Injury Russell your feathers - discuss all things high performance; injury lists, Marvel surface, curse from the gods and Andrew Russell

Recency bias is a hard thing to overcome. A lot are still shell shocked from the pathetic midseason slump of 2023. If we get through the next 5 matches with our reputation intact then a lot more will become true believers imo

Injury Russell your feathers - discuss all things high performance; injury lists, Marvel surface, curse from the gods and Andrew Russell

Yes . But the other example is the Tigers, who put that same pressure on, but remained able to have a very fit list

    Most improved after 6 rounds

whoever they are, its a real feather in the cap of our development coaches. We have long been pathetic at developing players IMO, preferring to overpay and trade for glamour names(already developed). This is unsustainable and leads to the mediocre results we have had. Now we have real depth and...

List Mgmt. 2024 List Management 📃

we should stop talking about chasing the latest shiny new object. Thats not how it works. We have a master at picking the right players for not a lot in Nick Austin. I would rather continue the relentless depth build that Nick is showing us is possible, without overspending, than throwing that...

    Opinion Cripps or Judd

Obviously our list was ok. But it was too shallow imo I think we had some stars when Judd arrived as you said but then we faded away pretty quickly . We were very Fevola centric , even though Betts was a fantastic foil for him. Waite IIRC was often injured and inconsistent and sometimes played...

    Opinion Cripps or Judd

Without Judd, we would have struggled with professionalism for a few more years. he dragged us out of our arrogance. But we still were a very hot and cold team. We relied on him to shoulder a huge burden, which he courageously did. We had a smattering of stars and some willing soldiers. Just not...

Injury Blue Healers Discussion - 2024

It would be nice if we knew whether this recurrence has led the club to be extra cautious, and just delaying his return or because the conservative management so far hasnt had the optimal results, which is leading to contemplation of more extensive surgery. We havent been provided with that...

Universal Love 2024 - The Year of the Navy Blues

...a group that now has self belief. That says to me that we will perform at the highest level in the '24 finals. And to me that means, with our talent, we are entirely capable of taking the Flag*. *Weitering is a huge loss. If he doesnt come back fully fit, that could very well derail our season

Injury Blue Healers Discussion - 2024

The biggest impact that Jacks loss will be on our flexibility. He can play tall or short , back or forward or ruck. I think his loss will only be felt when we have injuries that he might have covered. But our depth seems good and I really dont see him having an impact

Is Voss our Entropy? That finally brings order from the disorder of Post Elliott blues. I think there is a message here.

Prediction Poll - Who will be our highest rated rising star? 2024 edition

Not to mention the concept of 'managing ' players. We now have sufficient depth imo, to allow us to think this way. Hawks did it very well during their impressive premiership run

Training 2024 Training - reports, pics etc

Tom Williamson had a similar fan base , and was mentioned many times. Doesnt always work out. But IMO Boyd is a great example of a 'role player' that premiership teams always have. Limited ability, but what he does well, he does well

I hadnt seen this footage before. Apolagies if it has already been posted. I am very excited about Billy. He looks a great size with excellent disposal and a real play maker. I could see him forcing his way into the team earlier than we expect.

This gets said every year about every player. But the fact is that it is not how it works. If the player is ready- then he is ready. IMO stuffing a ready player into the 2s to protect him is counterproductive. AM seems really confident and if he is being frustrated by being protected in the 2s ...

Agree. The Lions are looking super dangerous with their forward line setup which is probably the model for the modern day forward line. Looks like fix the med forward situation was the brief for Nick&Co and they brought in Elijah and now Ashton to add to Martin
