Almost like every close win of ours during the season. Like… “sadly, these pr*cks have done it again…”The flatness of the 7 commentary in the last few minutes is remarkable really
Matched only by Dunstall on MMMAlmost like every close win of ours during the season. Like… “sadly, these pr*cks have done it again…”
I've listened to the audio commentary from the radio calls on YT. Much prefer the radio commentary to the TVThe flatness of the 7 commentary in the last few minutes is remarkable really
Huddo is part of the 3AW GF team. Tim Lane and Jimmy Bartel are there too. Excellent call by the 3AW team. His commentary style is almost cartoonish or more suited to the WWE. How I wish Bruce or even Huddo was commentating our GF.
Wish he'd stop saying "trip" when he means distance. Think he also said on one occasion when a player went over the boundary line "he's run out of tarmac".JB especially. Hes usually over the top animated but sounded depressed when it was clear we'd win. There was a clear shift in his mindset from the moment Bruzzy KOd Angus
I am here for this shithousery. So I bought a 6-pack of the Collingwood Premiership Draught and they... were not bad! Is it a different recipe from normal Carlton Draught?
Anyway I took them to a BBQ of a group of friends, all from WA, so I could finally give them a taste of success at the end of the year ;-)
Appropriate in horse racing but not AFL.Wish he'd stop saying "trip" when he means distance.
Get someone to throw a footy up the air and see how hard it is to grab it at the highest point and hit a moving target with a hand pass in mid air. Oh yeah and add 100,000 observers in the last few minutes of a Grand Final. PhenomenalIt will go down in Grand Final folklore. The Daicos Handpass! I'm not at all sure where the original of this came from. I came across it on X and asked a few questions, but never got anywhere. Anyway, it's too good not to share. if anybody knows about its provenance, please let me know.View attachment 1870307
I don't know who that Brisbane player behind him is but I hope it's Berry. It would cap off a magnificent game for him.It will go down in Grand Final folklore. The Daicos Handpass! Pretty sure it was Lachie Neale.I don't know who that Brisbane player behind him is but I hope it's Berry. It would cap off a magnificent game for him.
I thought it was pretty unprofesssional the way Richo carried on about the advantage call. The flatness of the 7 commentary in the last few minutes is remarkable really
What a non-event Rayner was in the GF.I love watching the flog Rayner rough up WHE after the Bailey goal for no reason and later in the quarter he handballs it right to WHE who sets up a goal
Nick was at the centre bounce, then, in the blink of an eye, he was here doing this!It will go down in Grand Final folklore. The Daicos Handpass! I'm going to relish being the hunted next year, bring it on.......3 months before the road to #17 begins.
Aren't we always the hunted anyway?I'm going to relish being the hunted next year, bring it on.......
#we'regunningforback2backbaby.
True, but there's extra spice being the 'Reigning Premiers'Aren't we always the hunted anyway?
The feeling of descending gloom as we looked like we might blow another GF, but before the fear was able to fully set in, sheer ectasy as we immediately regained the lead.Nick was at the centre bounce, then, in the blink of an eye, he was here doing this!
Sheer bloody genius!
Jordy's take and goal was not too shabby either.
And this straight after Brisbane goaled and potentially raised ghosts of GFs past.
After that last Lions goal, I've never prayed so hard at a game of footy, lol. That sinking, gut wrenching, sickening feeling of 'no, not again, this can't be happening'...The feeling of descending gloom as we looked like we might blow another GF, but before the fear was able to fully set in, sheer ectasy as we immediately regained the lead.
That we lost the lead and regained it and hung on to win, made the victory more special.
The most famous and significant passage of play in Pies Grand Finals. That was after Cameron kicked the goal which put the Lions in front but the lead was short-lived with Nick > De Goey. The ghosts of close grand final losses in 1964, 1966, 1970, 1979, 2002 and 2018 were erased and the Colliwobbles buried forever.Nick was at the centre bounce, then, in the blink of an eye, he was here doing this!
