Yes we should players I their best position and in case people didn't notice Vlastuin was a perfectly good half back flanker. What's the result? We move him into the gut where he has been largely disappointing and then try and plug his gap in defence with McIntosh who is a natural midfielder and a damn good one!
Arse backwards!

Were you one of the people that was an advocate for him moving into the midfield prior to JLT?

Much prefer him across half back and rotating through midfield.

Looks lost up forward but he is solid & composed down back along with Short. Much better than some of the panic merchants we play down back at times...

Thought he had a great game, was shocked when I saw how little he had of it. Thought for sure he was 20+ possies. If he can start putting together 25+ touch games then I think he will be an a grader.

He just about makes very possession count which makes him look like he's had more. One of his best games for a while. Seems to be getting his confidence back. Would love him to go to the next level consistently.

Is it fair to say that the mid/forward experiment of Vlastuin has failed? I think so.

Sadly, I think he is the player who has stagnated/gone backwards the most since 2016. Conca and Ellis have played some very impressive games, but bar that 12 tackle game, Vlastuin has barely had an impact.

Surely the experiment is over and we bring back Miles into the mid rotation and send Vlas back to the pocket or even the VFL? 9-12 disposal games as a mid just don't cut it.

Not sure re Ellis, never seen a bloke panic so much in my life when he has the ball in traffic. No composure whatsoever.
Agree with you that Vlaustin is wasted up forward and should be where he is most suited. In the middle or down back.

I think you'll find he will be a player that will be thrown every part of the ground during his career because he can just play anywhere which is very handy to have. At the moment i believe you're tight we need him in a set role i honestly think he needs to be part of that back 6

Credit this to Dimma's back pocket to "learn the game" philosophy. Has simply butchered the development of one of our brightest young inside mid prospects.

Knocked out a couple weeks ago, had his nose knocked off his face, willing to give him the beenfit of the doubt and a couple more games to adjust and hit his straps.

That's unfair.

The kid may just not be the player we all think he should be.
I've never seen anything myself to suggest he was a A grade mid like some did, bar some Under 18's reports and the occasional fancy footwork trick.

He's an excellent defender who can really generate a bit of movement out of the backline.
Not sure how it's Dimma's fault that Floss won't be a midfielder, not every player plays where he was drafted, I'd think most don't.

He just may not be quick enough, nor have the tank. It's always been the knock on him even prior to the draft.
Looked like DH is blaming contested ball deficiencies; who do we have in the seconds, Townsend, cellis & miles. Won't be surprised if towsends given the chance...

My first choice would be Cellis, because I think he is silk when fit.
Townsend is probably next because I do believe Miles just isn't fast enough to move with the spread, particularly the Bulldogs.

Any news on his shoulder yet? Will really miss his composure down back...

Lol. He's played about 4 games in there this year. Last week he played a quarter. Got knocked in head against crows and eagles. He gives us grunt in the middle. More value than an extra 10 touches
