I'm optimistic that win 3 will come on Saturday. Why?

1) Brisbane will have expended a lot to win against Essendon
2) The shame of yesterday will ignite the players
3) Milli, Glass, Kempy, Taylor back
4) Wooden on the ball to give some fight.
5) Cummings and Merenda better for a run.
6) Gaspar looking the goods
7) Gardiner looking fantastic

I also thought Haynes showed a lot of promise.

With the defence at last taking some shape all we will need is some confidence.

I'm hoping blindness has not totally set in with Judge. Gardy played a great game and won a lot of ruck but without Kempy only Kerr had a go at the loose ball after. The rest sit on the periphery waiting for the ball. Wooden has bad disposal skills but he is a tough, gritty sod who will get in there and fight. Right now that is what we need.

I think the shame of yesterday wont spark the boys but push them further to absolutely no confidence whatsoever. And Brissy will be higher than Mt Everest on confidence after besting the Bombers. I feel another big loss coming on.

This game will be to Brisbane, what most of our games have been to our opponents this season - a 'stats game' - pure & simple.

Anyone who thinks the eagles can go from 119pt losers to a team not likely to finish higher than 6th to beating a team that beat the bombers is either living in denial or can predict the future. And as i don't believe in psychics, Frodo must be in denial.

West Coast are not likely to win, and will avoid a 50pt+ loss only because of home ground advantage and the return of some key players.

The fact that brisbane have just come off a big game beating the bombers could work in our favour as often that same side is very flat the next week. With a bit more passion and McIntosh and Glass coming back as well as maybe a couple of non regulars with passion, we could pull off an upset....COULD!

I'm not suggesting for a minute that it will happen but it's interesting to see that we are only three wins off a final 8 position. The ladder is very strange this season. Imagine if we beat Brisbane then the duds!!!! Confidence rising etc,........ Well, dreams sometimes come true

Milli, Kempy??

Guys,

Not great news - Judge was interviewed on Ch7 this evening and he said Milli and Kempy will not be back for this week against Brisbane. He said they would be back after the split round (we have a weeks break after Brisbane). AFL website says Phil may also be out for 1 week........ARRRGGHHHH!!

Taylor should be ok, Glassy played for Perth but may need another week. On the bright side some of the East Perth boys looked great Buszan, Chambers, Cox , Turnbull. Josh Wooden surprised me with his endeavour at the ball.

Carlton game was embarrasing - I never thought the Eagles would put in such a lame and gutless performance. The eternal optimist in me says they will come out with a lot more fight this week and keep the loss under 10 goals........

Anyway - footy sucks at the moment - but we will be better in the next year or 2!!! GO EAGLES!
