Seriously, every week its just another excuse to why a player, the team - or Yze did not hit the standards we should be expecting. And you reckon i'm repetitive.

I have lost count of the amount of players i've seen dislocated a finger or thumb, get it popped back in then play on and perform. He ended up playing 80%TOG which was about the same as 90% of the players. We can't be making excuses non stop for 3 ****ing years. If his finger was causing him that much issue then they shouldn't have kept playing him. Surely by now we know not to risk a young player with an injury

How many times do you need Bojangles17 to tell you "The Standards we walk past, are the ones we accept"?

its getting mental here. We can't even say a player who got -9 rating on a game played shit anymore incase we hurt their feelings or some shit. Didn't say he was a shit player or a bust - only that his "-9" game was crap, which it was.

I think some of you should go back and watch the 2019 Prelim and remind yourself was AFL footballers look like. Graham getting openly shat on when referencing that performance is wild. There were so many other posters say he was shithouse on the weekend, yet you are all targeting me.

If you don't want the forum to just be flooded with arguments with me, then just stop replying to my opinions. im not the only one here saying he sucked

You're right - it is getting mental in here. Mental because of how quickly people are piling on a young, developing player, who had a shocker game. He had an injury affected his game but he kept playing on because we couldn't afford to have him off the field.

I agree with the statement -'The standards we ignore are the standard we accept' - which is why I'm calling out posters who believe targeting an injured young player, who had one bad game, is somehow acceptable. Call out the poor game but appreciate it was under extenuating circumstances. Just like Graham, he played because the team needed him to play, but unlike Graham, people are ignoring his injury and calling for him to be dropped or even traded.

This sort of bs has got to stop.

ok so we agree, he was shit on sunday.

Glad we got there in the end😂
I never said his game was anything other than ordinary/bad, but your pointless rants don’t change our predicament. Are you advocating dropping him and bring in our gun - Sampson Ryan?

Just accept we need to play him regardless of his form. We need to support our youth and weed out the fringe dwellers. Ryan, Rioli, Ralphsmith, Sonsie etc. We have senior players who are at the end of their careers to be replaced. Not to mention Hopper. Ideally if a young player was struggling he’d be sent back to the VFL, however, our list and injury list does not afford us this luxury.

Ideally if we had the cattle you could make a strong argument to give him a month or so in the VFL just to find some form and confidence

Obviously we don’t really have that luxury right now so it will be interesting how he responds
He hasn't really been out of form though... He had a poor game after dislocating his thumb. Its fine.

The game before he got dropped was terrible as well his form his fluctuated a lot this year

What a horrific read this was.
RJK Tiger falling over himself wanting everyone to admit he had a bad game. Not realising that everyone was agreeing with him for the most part but just not wanting to torch the kid for a poor game after dislocating his thumb.

Trainor is the least of our worries. Chill out.

Yeah the guy who had 10 kicks with his foot & missed the target 7 times. Cant blame a dislocated thumb for that.

Jack Graham played on with a dislocated shoulder & helped get us into a GF. Now we are cuddling shithouse performances over a dislocated thumb.

He is a young player & shit games are part of it - but lying to ourselves that he did well is achieving what exactly?

Someone’s never kicked a footy in their life

That clown is probably just angry, because for the last fortnight he hasn’t been able to squeal about how much better Shanahan has been than Jonty.

Was this the first time he’s been given a proper match up? I thought defensively he was excellent. Yes Caddy had 5 shots, but two were from tiggy touchwood frees and he only managed 5 other disposals for the rest of the night. Caddy is not an easy match up (made easier by Essendon being shit) and he matched him athletically, halving a lot of contests. Did not get it handed to him at all. All with a bung thumb and shoulder.

The dinky kicking is frustrating but thought he did well overall.

I thought similar, i believe it was the most genuine KPD role he’s played in his short time with us.

I’d love to see him get more exposure to this role, think it’ll be great for his development.

Largely agree. I thought it was a good matchup against the more experienced Caddy. They were legit free kicks though; you can't put your hand on someones shoulder to stop them jumping at the ball. It's something he'll learn not to do through training reps.

Gibcus & Gray out and Balta rucking. Trainor is next in line. Trainor 27 sprints. (Caddy 24). Won the game of football. but their KPFs most damaging.

Swans got Amartey. Not expecting the win.

Classic developer as a defender. He will become an A grade defender but it will take time.
I have been critical of his disposal by foot but he is a good kick that will take time and experience to know what to do and when. Athleticism is fantastic and he competes hard. 2 of his spoils were massive last night except he infringed and the frees were warranted.
Huge upside.

out of all the 8 picked last year, didn't really see a position for Luke. last night he matched up well vs caddy for height, still needs some extra kg's and strength. and some experience

but those 2 spoils that were given frees. being able to keep up with caddy on the move and leaping that much higher than him, surprised me. the dangling hand that gave the free kick didn't really lift him, just got in the way. with more experience he will use that dangling arm to mark the ball.

the speed and leap makes him, more than I thought we had.

Had 3 goals kicked on him but both Caddy's frees were BS. Too early to call whether the pick was value or not. Rance copped a lot of flak early on - give him a chance.. Astbury was a forward and Grimes was off a rookie draft - and that was after a second-round pick. Let the kid find his way..
