Agreed. I feel like for too long we were intent on getting talented youngsters into a defensive position. I know the logic: teach them that side of the game, it's needed at AFL level. But I feel like guys such as McDonald and Atley just need to be wound up and let rip sometimes.

In the Freo game he slipped over twice in the last minute at crucial contests leading to their last goal but recently he has been instrumental in sealing games for us in the last quarter.

That is a big turn around and he deserves credit for it.

It shows how important he can be for this side.

Finey grouped him with Gibson as players we don't want to have the ball. Basically said he was a hack.

I like Finey, but he's way off on this one.

As soon as I heard JMac was out I suspected old Two Dogs would be destined to a more defensive role and so it appeared. Will be better again once able to resume his more attacking intent.
