Why can’t he have a blinder next year? Could easily be back to his 2021 form that was all Australian caliber
He has only played one sub 15 game season except his first two years and this year

He hasn’t had repeat injuries this year, all his injuries have been separate including an unlucky concussion

And no we aren’t contending next year but that is still only year two into his contract his still in his prime and will be for a number of years

Seems you just want to s**t on the trade due to an emotional underwhelming season and feel like you need something to blame
Such was his form This year , that he’ll need to have two and a half extremely good years to be on par at the half way mark of his contract

It's all about cost

When i get a pizza from coles for $2 - its a good pizza

But if i paid $42 for that pizza, it would be a very very bad pizza.
If you think a $2 coles pizza is good then you either have shithouse taste, no idea what you're on about or you're just not very good at similes.

Solid game I would of thought why not include it in your small sample size of current output
Let’s include the whole season and compare against a draftee who many thought at the start of the year would be delisted at the end of this year .
Ross v Hopper, who do you think has had the best season ?
I’d suggest if Ross had the season Hopper has had he’d be moved on .

I mean if we ignore the fact that they have played completely different roles for the year and the players they were matched up against a complete different caliber and Ross had zero injuries you might have a point

But even without that Hopper leads Ross in every major stat (except marks but that would more due to playing different positions)

Ross has had a great year and is growing nicely but that is a shocking comparison you are trying to make

Nice cherry picking of legitimate stats and use of logic loser. Just admit he's a dud.

Yeah so s**t, lets have a look shall we, should be way down on everything if he is so s**t.

Based on average this is where Hopper sat club wise until today from 15 games

Disposals: 6th
Tackles: 3rd
Inside 50's: 3rd
Clearances: 3rd
Contested ball: 4th
Goal assists: 2nd

What a terrible s**t year he had, i agree with you we have made a shocking error getting him LOL.

So instead of potting, please tell us what Hopper needed to do to be a pass mark in your eyes.

A centre square mid being 6th in disposals isn’t good. I honestly just don’t think he gets enough of it and hence not enough impact.

Ross would have been scalded upon here if he dished up the shit Hopper has this year . Little impact offensively and generally zero defensively .
I again mention that many thought at the start of the year that Ross would be moved on at seasons end .
Hopper is on a lucrative 7 year deal .
I’d be shocked if anyone thinks Hopper has had a better season than Ross .

Keep grasping mate

I literally posted the stats that confirm that Hopper had a better year on every metric and you seem to be basing your opinion on Hopper on his down games not the ones where he played well (including coaches votes across multiple games)

You are only saying Ross had a better year based on your expectation of Ross and Hoppers years not what they actually produced across the year

Might be time to just take the L

Thanks for trying to tell me what I’m basing my opinion on .
Funny how stats don’t show lack of effort in chasing or direct opponents impact .
Countless times Hopper just hasn’t been able to defend and your ignoring the fact that one started the season facing delisting the other was given a 7 year contract the variation should be massive. Z

He’s not alone in that department, especially amongst all of our midfield group
Hopefully a new coach and gameplan can help rectify it

But if that’s all you are basing your comparison between Ross and Hoppers season on I’m sure we will find Ross lacking defensive accountability just as much

That centre square mid ranks 2nd for centre clearances by the way for tiger players over 10 games played.

What are you expecting him to get just quietly, maybe you can provide your expectations of him considering none of the others are or are you one as well who just sinks the boots in and by the way if you do provide your expectations will it match what the coaches ask of him or are going to judge him based on what you expect of him.

Remember when we all thought Tom Green was out trade target from the Giants….

I wasn't a fan of the deal and the time, and still a bit disappointed so far. Just feel even at his best he's a bit vanilla and I'd have preferred to take the gamble on the draft. It's not that he's a bust, it's at the price we paid you should be getting more than a Jacob Hopper.

He has time on his side however, so prepared to see him with a full preseason, adjusting to the environment and now with a new coaching structure to see what he can deliver.
