Fyfe is better than Rockliff. Influences matches more, elite overhead mark, can play HB, up forward, or through the midfield and completely dominate in any of these positions. Has been extremely consistent, close to best afield in a losing grand final, good leadership skills (Rocky's are better, but Fyfe's are underrated). Fyfe is a star. Rocky is a great player, but a star not just yet.
Beams is better than Rockliff, but he has only played one year that was at such a high level. So it's hard to tell, if he continues that form then he is better. But Beams could recess, highly unlikely, but possible. Beams is a better all around player, and again influences matches more.
Libba is better than Rockliff. He became elite this season. Statistically the best contested player in the competition, but ignoring statistics is still easily in the best contested players and one could make an argument that he is one.
Rockliff is a great player, not a star, but a great player. Out of all the players in the league, he'd be in the 20-35 bracket.

Rockliff seems to be one of those players who is reasonably good at everything but isnt elite at anything. So when he is compared to these other players (Beams, Fyfe, Libba) he loses out by being a bit of a jack of all trades. Doesn't make him the greatest player out there but he is under rated by a lot of people.

I think most see that talent he is - he is a superb talent - one of those players that has embarrassed recruiters - how did 90 picks go past without him being called out?? Add to the list of biggest draft steals of all time. I agree that he is very good at most things he does.
As good as Rockcliff is Fyfe is an extraordinary player.

Fyfe is always going to be one of those players that people can never agree on (like Rioli). He has some amazing attributes but the question will always come up on his disposal (unless of course he cleans that up).

I think the comparsion with Hird is apt. Hirds foot skills were not excepational but he could make things happen and is an all time great. Fyfe's game in the wet against us this year was amazing. He handled the ball so much better than anyone else. He was on a completely different level to every player out there.
By the end of the career we could be debating Hird V Voss V Buckley all over again with Fyfe V Beams V Rockcliffe.
Fyfe is an inside mid FFS. Rocky is an inside/out mid who can play forward. Has spent quite a large portion of his time up forward due to injuries etc. He would have more goals if the Lions weren't a bottom 8 side these last few years....

Is that why he kicked 7 goals and Fyfe kicked more than double that? Your last argument is just terrible...
we take Rockliff out of our midfield and we lose... Take Fyfe out of Fremantles midfield and they still win FFS. Just goes to show Rocky influences the game more....

Put Fyfe in Brisbane and you win more games. The better player will always add more value.
