hey if you guys are thinking of KOSI what do u want/think you can get for him
just out of interest

I may sound stupid.. but from the Tigers I would take in a trade,

Kosi for a top 30 pick, + 2 of tambling/jackson/coughlan/JON/hughes (even though i dont see Tambo leaving , but would love Hughes playing at FF and Coughlan injury free)

If we could get Tambling and 2nd rounder for Kosi we would be pulling off a great trade.

Tambling although highly critised is a super quick great outside midfeilder, exactly the type of player we need (decent midfielders!!)

i am good friends with a few richmond supporters who believe tambling was one of their biggest mistakes. imagine where they would be with their midfield kicking the ball down buddy's throat week in week out.

we need to get rid of kosi. he hasnt shown much throughout his career apart from a 5 week burst where he tore his oponents to shreds after his injury. o'keefe would be great for us as he is a quality half forward which means we can leave roo at FF for a tall marking option

need to get young jack steven in the game. he obviously has potential if we drafted the kid who still had to do yr12 this year. could he be the next harvs.

we need a strong bodied midfielder to replace harvs. benny cousins would be perfect for that i reckon. his on field brilliance would over shadow his off field mistakes

There is no point "Getting Rid" of anyone. If Melbourne got rid of their bad players there would be no team!
What we can do is "Replace" players.
We can replace underperformers, or those not being selected with new draftee's.
We can replace good players with other good players more suitable to our needs.

Assuming no-one in the business is stupid they will not want to trade their gun midfielder for our average midfielder without something to sweeten the deal.

The best trade would be for something mutually beneficial.
For example if we have a surpluss of midfielders ( Dal Santo? ) and another team has key forwards but not enough midfielders.

To try to make a good trade for a similar player ( midfielder for midfielder ) both teams will be wanting to make benefit from the deal but the actual advantage of the trade will be minimal.

Draft Smokey Mitch Brown, not the WCE player, but the Sandringham Dragons listed M.Brown from Mentone Grammar. Dominated AGS season along with AGS vs APS Rep. match kicking 8 goals for the AGS.
KPP, once he gets some weight on him could be very handy and very dangerous, could allow rooey to move up into the play a bit more and if king leaves kosi goes back into the ruck....things just just work well for the saints over the next few years...yeh and Armitage2Riewoldt my names mark...you?

get on mitch brown. great mentone grammar player, being one of his mates, love to see him at the saints.

I will guarentee you Melbourne will be the least active in trade week with only two possible deals
Bentley to us
And Armitage to us for pick 19. they're the two i know of, and the club knows it wants to keep picks and not get recycled players if they are over 23. and most clubs won't be getting rid of any young under 23 talent.

Well, I hope you at least can get used to Armitage, because right now, its looking quite likely..

reliable source: and you can bet your bottom dollar if we get another top 20 pick or another there abouts pick, and don't use 19 on warnock- the deal will happen. It's been arranged.

Silly season. I love it.
They seem hell bent on giving us Frawley & Sylvia for 13.

I wonder if someone got any information on ex Saints player Bob Jones son, whether he will get picked up this year I know a few clubs have taken an interest in him.

Amazing 20m sprint times - including by guys who are over 190cm.

Making me nervous when we lack legspeed and are making commitments to retain guys who are too slow for the way the game is going.

Would love it if we could pick up Blease somewhere along the way. Has the pace we need and can use it well.

I with you brother.

Regardless of where he goes I'll be following his career with interest.

Much like I did when I spotted Adam Goodes back in the U18's all those years ago.

Last years trades were awesome. No doubting that.
But we are on the lookout for ruckman and i just know we're gonna get him. Has had a very poor year and his previous years weren't great either. Just go with the kids Saints.

Um, you mean the years where he helped win a premiership?? this year was crap previous years = better than any ruck you have on your list atm, and he will go cheap! He outshone Gardiner when he was on our list and is a better ruckman than king.

This blokes right.
I saw Brown play at the APS vs AGS game, marked everything and kicked 8. With blokes like Watts and other 'first two round' blokes not getting near it, especially Watts.
I was actually anoyed because i went to watch Watts play, after all the hype but Brown looked a much more natural player.
Apparently he outplayed Watts in the Sandy Dragons forward line when they played together in the second half of the year.

I think we could get him at round 3 or 4, thats around where he'll go, we need a 6 2 ROK style of player, if we cant get the real thing.

The Dees are kidding themselves if they think they are going to get armo. He'll captain the club in 4-5 years when Riewoldt hands it over.
Hopefully Harvs will be coach (he needs a premiership some how) .
we'll still be solving how to get out of our cycle of constant mediocrity.

King wins more hitouts, gets more possesions, takes more marks.
That being said though we could do with Seaby but i prefer to keep our picks even pick 47 cause this draft runs deep. With Seaby being only 24, many clubs would be vying is services which will push his price up. Not a knock on Seaby at all, we just need to draft some youth.

Mitch Brown has snuck under the radar for a while now but clubs are starting to take notice. With not being invited to the draft camp, i reckon 3rd round possibly even late 2nd is where we'll see him go. If we could grab him with our 3rd it would be a steal. :thumbsu:
