Can't remember seeing him play but surely we would have to be considering a local small with some talent for later in the draft.

I think our two main holes are classy mid and KPD.

On the surface it looks like our KPD stocks are solid but with Glass possibly retiring soon, we all saw how thin we are down back with 1-2 injuries earlier in the year.

Brown and McKenzie just seem to be injured so often that it is an important area to look at.

None of Masten, Stevens or Swift have truly taken that next step so gun/classy mid seems a priority. Shuey, Scooter and Gaff look great but we need more if we want to challenge for a flag.

Do you think Schofield will be able to become a KPD when Glass retires ,is getting good experience as a 3rd tall is listed at 196 cm -94 kg and only 22 ?
would like the club to use a 3 rd pick on a tall defender that can be developed rather than use a 1st rd pick .

I have a feeling wce will take Lockyer if available can swing Fwd or Back as well .

Personally as far as tall defenders go i really think you only need 1 geurilla style defender player playing each round. I know we play with 2 in emac and glass but i personally think you only need 1 playing.

These days its all about team defence and i think as long as you have that 1 main guy who can handle the oppositions power forward then you will do ok. I'd rather have 1 guy like glass and then 3-4 guys who are athletic third tall types who can play tall or short but are also aerial threats rather than having 2 big key defenders, 1 third tall and a couple of smalls.

Lockyer could be a good get but i'd really prefer if we try and trade for 1-2 ready to go players this year who can improve us straight away. A guy like young from hawthorn would likely be able to be picked up with a player swap and a pick upgrade/downgrade or our second rounder this year and i think that is what we should be focusing on as a club. Offer him a 2-3 year deal on more cash than what he's getting at the moment and at the very worst he becomes afl quality depth and i think he's better than that. He a damned site better than having dalziell and houlihan as our backup outside runners.

Yes, I think he could take the KPD role. He seems to have put on a lot of upper-body strength this year. Core strength is good too. Had a very good year!

Yeah when he first moved up to Perth he was carrying a lot of extra weight but over the last couple of season has really trimmed down. Plays that small speedy/skillful defender roll in the mold of Yarran and Davis this year. Can also play fwd and on the wing (bursts)

Btw I think Lewis fell off WCE radar with the drafting of Gaff, that and the fact Sydney offered way above what he was expecting convinced him to stay.

WCE are interested and talking to Murray Newman from SD , .... thats good another Swans player is good , is he indigenous ? I might go check who he is ?


EDIT Newman has kicked 7.7 in 7 games , SD leading goal kicker haha , and am guessing his favourite number is 7 !
