Look at this way. Are we going to be stronger with sandi , griffo , Clarke and m. Clark.

Or sandi , griffo , m.Clark , moller(2013) and O'meara (2013)

IMO we will be miles better off with ^^^^.

We do look better with what you have put, unless O'Meara becomes another Daniel Wells and doesn't start playing well until he is 27. I saw Well's last game for Peel before he was recruited and he was amazing. Then did nothing for 9 years. O'Meara will probably turn into a gem but there is no guarantee. We have already seen how good Clarke is going to be. It's a tricky one. It does look as though we have too many rucks at the present moment though. If we get Clark.

Wish people would temper their expectations of Moller.

Indeed. People are expecting him to be as good as Sandi, while he apparantly didn't set the world on fire in the second half of this year.

You know what they say on BF, a bird in the bush is worth two in the hand.

If we trade Zac away, we will regret it guaranteed.
Jaeger will probably be a winner but we know more about what Zac will do at AFL level than what Jaeger will. Certainly in the beginning I wasn't sold on Zac but he has improved exponentially, if these trends continue ayyyy ;)

I cant believe people are quick to give up Zac. He has been a work in progress since he came to the club. Results were starting to show this year and now you want to get rid of him for JOM.

WOW

JOM is a quality young player, no doubt about that... but do we want to give up a guy who is going to take over from Sandi in a few years just to get another midfielder who cant play till 2013.

you gotta give quality to get quality. if we didn't have such strong ruck depth, it would be a different story, but with sandi, griffin, and moller coming through, as well as the likely inclusion of clark, we can afford to lose a quality guy like zac, if it means getting JOM.

Oh, I think Moller is a promising talent. Lots to like about him, and he'll be a good player.

But although he might be playing against men in the NSW competition, I doubt he'd be playing WAFL seniors even in two years. Maybe by the time Sandilands retires, Moller would be ready to step up. But he is a long, long way off AFL football. So he shouldn't be a factor at all when it comes to Zac and the possibility of trading him (which is stupid by the way).

I'm almost too scared to say this, but wouldn't he be a better trade Moller for O'Meara then Clarke. Both with plenty of potential but both unknown quantities. I know all the 'you don't trade a KPP for a midfielder' stuff. But it would be the least harmful way of getting O'Meara to the club.

You can't trade an unlisted player. He's a scholarship player. He justed turned 17, he won't be on our playing list until 2013. I wouldn't give up the rights to picking him. Plus i doubt GWS would be doing any under the table deals.

Well that wasn't as bad as I thought.
I just wondered if we could give up the rights to him in exchange for O'Meara. Clearly, we can't. It seems the simplest solution. we have years to recruit another ruckman/forward if we get Clark and keep Griffen and Clarke. We are extremely good at picking out quality ruckman.

Can't see us playing sandi , Clarke , Clark(if we get him)& griffo altogether , can you?

What I can see is happening , either griffo or clarke will get pissed off (to much WAFL time) ,ask for a trade and we get shafted. griffo will probably walk straight into the PSD & we get nothing.

They might be men in the Sydney league, but even the Swans reserves don't respect them as footballers.

Temper on Moller, I'd say take it down a notch on Zac too.

I would think Zac may struggle for form and confidence over the next 2 seasons. Important that he earns his spot on form too.

On the 17 Year old draft, would love to get a pick even if it was not JOM...however the price is likely to be sky-high.

A couple of things for me with watching the Grand Final.

I would much rather recruit Mitch Clark than Dawes. For starters I expect that he will have more chance of being a forward with significant impact for us. Secondly, being a decent ruckman gives us insurance that if he does not work as a forward then we can still get value from him. Dawes is simply a forward.

And of course the final thing is that Clark wants to play for us, and live here.

Read this in the Herald Sun today.

Ross Lyon met players over the past few weeks and passed on some wise words to young midfielder Anthony Morabito.
Morabito was scheduled to head to Bali.
Ross Lyon asked him who his fav midfielder is(he answered Judd) ,he then asked Morabito if he thought Judd would be going on an end of season trip to Bali with his mates on the back of a serious knee injury.
Morabito ended up giving the trip to Bali a miss.

G'day guys

Posted this in the trade rumours thread on the D&T board

Dylan Roberton has (apparently) asked for a trade back home and nominated his preffered destination as Carlton despite living closest to the team he supported as a kid (St.Kilda).

Take this with a grain of salt as even I am not so sure as to the reliability of this 'source'.

He's contracted so if your mail is accurate they'll have to come up with a suitable trade.

If true then Roberton could play a part in a Clark/O'Meara trade.
