2011 Eliminator Thread

Round 7 sees the kick off of this years Eliminator

This is the place to talk tactics, see if you're up against someone from BF and vent because "player x only scored 95, when they should have scored 102" and you were knocked out

The longest i have lasted was a few years back, i think i survived until round 14 or so

I'm not expecting much this year, as i seem to be spudding it up

Would like to get through 3 or 4 games though

First few weeks will be quite as we'll be playing people who have a few guns and the rest of their teams filled with players from their favourite club or teams with heaps of guns in the backline/midfield and then the rucks with all 80K rookies

A few people will be disappointed it starts with a Collingwood bye, losing Swan and Pendles in the midfield may hurt a few.

The sub rule too

Imagine having a player on (your) field play as a sub and that costs you your match. They only come on at the end of the 3rd and score 15 pints and you lose by 5 or so

You'd be dirty

Luck will play a huge part of it

I click on the eliminator tab and i cant see an opponent. Just the same writing thats been there all season. Can anyone see their opponent for round 7? I cant.

From memory, opponents came out on Thursdays last season. Would expect similar this season.

I'm the opposite. I prefer it that way as it makes it more of an FA Cup type luck of the draw situation rather than a tennis style seeded draw.

Looks like the eliminator page has been updated....Opponents aren't available yet, but my page now says "You current eliminator status is: Active"

Not much use for most, but I suppose if you were unsure about whether you made the first 262,144...you can find out now.

This activity suggests to me that matchups aren't too far away.

If I lose this, I'll never play DT again...

I was ranked 1000 odd last year and lost in rd 14 to a team ranked 22,000.
I cant believe they made it that far to begin with.

Far out I hate it how it's based on weekly rankings. Playing a guy who scored 1300 last week p) but is ranked in the top 50. I should win still, but looking at his team I dunno!

I'm versing a guy who scored 556 last week, thought he'd have an absolute shambles of a team then looked at his team and he has 23 Geelong players lol, most of them actually decent, if geelong smash it this week (which they most likely will) i could be toppled by a guy ranked 200,000+ That would be bloody embarrassing.

Must be starting at #1 and #262,144 and matching them up towards the middle as it seems the guys in the top couple of thousand have found out their opponent 1st??

I'm ranked about 8000th so hopefully not too long to wait!
