Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

$350K??

You must surely be talking about his Dreamteam price....or there is a glitch in the Tooserious Matrix.

If he averages ~110-ish next two games, I would expect him to shed about $100K to around $475K or thereabouts.

There was a slight glitch in TS that I fell afoul off as well (I can't double check this at the moment to see if it's been changed) - the default calculations are based off his current rolling three game average regardless of what you put in. You need to click somewhere to get it to use the values you've put in. I got Didak dropping to $250k after round 1 because of this.

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Is this a real possability ???

Short answer, unknown. Someone else mentioned that Rocket had said he got a kick to the ankle but he did come back on after that. The point I was trying to make is at this moment, it's unknown if he'll play on the weekend. I'll wait until Thursday/Friday until the teams are named and will make my decision from there.

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Gday guys would REALLY appreciate some help here:

Team is as follows:

DEF: Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Grimes, Otten, Lower, Duigan, (Batchelor, Brodie Smith, Stanley)

MID: Pendlebury, Judd, Boyd, J Selwood, J P Kennedy, Harris (Liberatore, Bewick, Irons)

RUCK: Cox, Sandilands (Smith, Derickx)

FWD: Riewoldt, Franklin, Goodes, Higgins, Yarran, Knights, Krakouer (Tapscott, Richardson, Matera)

$1,500 in bank.

Am thinking need to get rid of Kennedy ($394k) having knocked up scores of 79 and 58 in his first 2 weeks. Really thought he'd be due for a breakout but he's been tagged in his first 2 games and not sure how well he is coping with it. Getting rid of him early is just one player less i need to umm and aah over for the rest of the season.

The obvious player to bring in would be Curnow. This will pocket me $284k.

My question is...should I only make the one trade and sit on that cash for atleast a week or possibly even more?

My backline is obviously my weakest line but of course all premiums will stay and other than Otten, the other upgrades would be from rookies worth $100k odd meaning I cant spend more than about $385k on a rookie and there is no point picking up a defender around that price.

Otherwise I could upgrade a Knights or Yarran this week and pretty much have every premium forward to choose from - but I think my fwd line is OK for the moment and would rather fix up backs first. Also, 2 of my targets in Chapman and Rioli wont have their price rise after rd 3 anyway (due to Chap injury in rd 1 and Rioli suspension rd 3).

What to do? Thoughts please guys? Thanks

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Is it too early to trade out Smith/Puopolo for rookies that are playing?

Even if I just traded the one, which would is more likely to start?

Puopolo looks close to a game at the Hawks so you might want to wait until Thursday night

Smith as in Issac? Not sure he's close to a game yet, perhaps check the Hawks board

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Ok really in need of some help here...

My backline is : Gibbs, Grimes, Heppell, Bruce, Lower, Pederson and Everitt..EMG: Buckley, Toy and Hibberd...

Everitt needs to go!!!!!!

So with my MIDS being: Swan, Judd, Goddard, Cotchin, Selwood and Sylvia...Do I trade one of (looking at sylvia or even Judd) for Curnow, then uprage Everitt to someone like Enright, and still have cash, or trade everitt for suckling? I think I really need another premium but also don't know who to trade out of the mids....HELP!

Trade Everritt to Otten and you have $130,000 left to upgrade somewhere else and Otten will make you that much alone in the next 6 or so weeks.

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

I'm considering Jolly to Cox. What are peoples thoughts on this? Is it worth the trade? Jolly's about to drop and Cox is going to sky rocket

Also considering getting Curnow in for Prestia but Prestia is playing so i might just leave it. This is the hard decision.

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Cox and Sandi are must have's. I had Warnock in my side a week before Round 1 and even though Warnock's posted a good score, am very thankful I made the switch.

Yeah Cox and Sandi are the dynamic ruck duo again this season.

I'm looking at off loading Prestia for Tapscott which will earn me some valuable cash so I can later upgrade Boak. Carlton do have a challenging next 5 weeks then a bye, so Curnow may or may not maintain good form against tougher opponents.

Also going Atley to Libba.

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Just made the move of A.Swallow too Shuey,
Which free'd up the cash for Waters too Enright. I thought about Gibbs but already have duigan and laidler, so i did not want 3xcarlton in def

Thoughts?

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Thinking of offloading Rockliff or Boak for Curnow , and also swapping either Hibberd or D. Swallow for Libba.

Are people thinking of Swallow as a potential keeper, or is he just another cash cow?

This will give me an extra $300k-$370k in the bank to upgrade someone to Swan later on (already have Pendlebury and didn't want two Pie premiums in my midfield before their byes.)

Thoughts?

I think you might be jumping the gun, yeah Cox is going great and you probably should have picked him, but Jolly is a quality player and a known slow starter. He will probably come good as the year goes by.

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Out: Boak Cotchin
In: Swan Curnow

It pains me to do it as Cotchin, in particular, is doing well but it does solve two problems.

What do you guys think??

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

I'm gonna offload Everitt... I already have Heppell, Lower, Toy and Duigan. So there aren't any rookies worth down grading to.

Should I consider Suckling? Or is he this years Beau Muston?

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

It looks like a pretty decent side to me. I'd trade Kennedy and then sit on it as you say. That way it gives you another look at which mid priced forward to upgrade.

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

ive done a lot of thought on this. I have had multiple thoughts and goes at it.

locked in trade def doing
Gia to Dawes

unsure of.
Atley to Curnow

I will wait an extra week for libba as his bye follows the next round (rd 4)
by which time others such as A krack or D swallow will have moved as well and i can better gauge if hes a 'must have'.

Jolly to Cox

needs to be done (at least Jolly has to go) and if its not done this week will be worked on next week.

Im leading towards the Curnow trade. I think hes gonna skyrocket from what ive seen.
I think they(cox and curnow) may jump in price a very similar amount so money isnt so much of a issue

hmm decisions decisions

McKernan?

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

I'm planning on trading Goddard to Swan, and Isaac Smith to Tapscott. Goddard's price is about to take a dive and he has a bye in round 4. Swan's price is going to increase and it will free up enough cash to get Tapscott. I'll pick Goddard back up in a few rounds when his price has dropped and I can trade out a cash cow.

Would probably be in the top 100 or so if I had of chosen Swan over Goddard.

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

only promising looking rookie im missing is tapscott. is it worth offloading richardson or petrie for him?

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

What would your midfield be then?

If I traded out both Boak and Cotchin for Swan and Curnow, my midfield would be:

Swan Pendelbury Judd

Burgoyne D. Harris Libba

Curnow D. Swallow S. Atley

I think it is about a 50/50 call but Swan is absolutely killing it and Collingwood only look to be widening the gap if anything. Those two and Krak are my only Pies BTW

Would be a nice midfield. Swan/Pendles combo would of been ideal to start with hey.. must admit Cotch has looked good so far.. Anywho

Probably been done to death, but looking at Curnow and/or Liberatore. Have Callan Ward and not sure if he's worth persisting..

Team is as follows

Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Grundy, Grimes, Otten, Lower (Duigan, Toy, Batchelor)

Swan, Judd, Selwood, Ward, Heppell, Harris (D Swallow, Bewick, Conca)

Sandilands, Cox (Smith, J Tip)

N Riewoldt, Franklin, Pavlich, Goodes, Petrie, Krakouer, Tapscott (Darling, Richardson, Matera)

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Should I do

Conca > Curnow/Libba &

A.Swallow > Pendles ?

Or nothing...
Pendles will probably have a much higher total by the end of the season...
