Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

thinking hibberd to curnow and gamble to tapscott

Considered the first one as well but i don't want to jump the gun on curnow, will wait until after collingwood. The second trade is a good one

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

You either get on this week or you don't at all.

Bewick got 23 touches and 40 points, crab. Doesn't tackle, mark, or kick goals. Think Curnow might get a look in after seeing that.

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

thinking about bewick (only brisbane player) --> curnow/liberatore

happy with swallow harris and pittard

also have puopolo on the bench doing nothing and may need to trade him out for cash

i would like any advice

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

thinking atley > Curnow and
Buddy > .. anyone that gives away less than 20 free kicks a game..
Rioli, Chappy or even C Dawes???

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Everitt for a steaming piece of shit

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

I'm not missing the gravy train!

Curnow will be traded in if he is named (he should be).
Want to work Tapscott into my forward line too.

Atley to Curnow
Dixon to Tapscott

For those afraid to use your trades, if your rookies are not performing you must get on ones that are, especially early in the game. These guys may play plenty of games, and give you the cash you need to upgrade later.
I may not need to trade for another few weeks after this.

And don't be afraid of the opposition affecting players scoring too much, eg-
Goddard scored below average against Richmond.
Matt Thomas scored well above average against Collingwood.
If Curnow can score 80+ against Collingwood this week, I will be satisfied. Better than Atley's donut for the bye (he may not even play afterwards)

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Looking at possibly Ward > Libba/Curnow..

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

thinking of going

atley to curnow or libba

then going

jolly to cox thoughts?

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Down grade someone.

Upgrade Krakouer to Rioli

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

JP Kennedy out for R Murphy in..... Thoughts???

Hmmm not sure about that one mate.

I try and avoid trading in midpricers unless I think they may become premiums.
Are there any cash cows you can bring in instead?
Or maybe you know something about R.Murphy that I don't? He has averaged less than 70 for the last 2 years, and has had knee and hamstring troubles throughout his career.

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Got no cash so it might need to be - Swallow > Libber and Jolly > Cox. Feels wrong but I think Harris is worth starting on the ground over him anyhow so he's only another bench player for me.

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

My question is what to do with Cam Bruce... Was gone for all money up until i saw his score, now i dont know... Dont have Heppel so that is the trade that is appealing, as he look good for solid 70's to 80's, which im not sure Bruce will be able to beat by much.

This will do my head in this week!!

If thats what you feel, pull the trigger!

Try and get your rookies and midpricers right early, then save your trades only to upgrade the cows and replace the LTI's etc.

Ask yourself, do you think you can keep Bruce all year? Or would you get in Heppel as a cash cow, to upgrade to a premium later (using 2-3 trades)?

Definite dilemna!

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Is Richardson to Tapscott a stupid/naive/n0b trade? I've got a lot of depth over the park but feel Tapscott could be one of the cash cows of the year...

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

I'll be keeping Bruce personally. I think he can only improve and if Hawks get a bit of a roll on, he's the perfect type of player to benefit. With that said, pre his 96, he was gone for all money :D

I'll be looking at Atley -> Curnow this week but if by some chance Bewick doesn't get named i'll be really unsure on who i'll be getting rid of.

Bruce played off the back flank against a team that essentially didn't have the ball over halfway for the 2nd half of footy.

He's in my team and he is staying!

Lets not forget he is still finding his feet in the side.

A definite unique that, when he finds his feet, will score heavily.

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Tempted to shift out Krakouer. Been subbed both weeks now and half scores will badly affect his price.

Krak > Tapscott

Hahaha, you mad?

Bring Tapscott in for someone but to trade out Krak now would be ludicrous.

Is he playing the same role as he did at Melbourne?

He had a role at Melbourne?

As the year progresses I think you'll see him rotated through the middle more often.

I have Richardson and won't be starting him on the field again unless absolutely necessary. Half backs get a lot of their points from marks from opposition kicks - that's how Goddard and Deledio & co put up ~100s even when they play like shite - but this guy doesn't seem to mark the ball at all. And half backs generally don't get a lot of tackles and obviously don't kick goals. I can't see him averaging anymore than 60 even though he finds a bit of the footy.

Whether it is worth the trade is the million dollar question and what a lot of people will be asking themselves this week.

I have Tapscott as well as Richardson but I'm in a similar situation in the midfield. I have Bewick - who scored a grand total of 45 points from 23 possessions as he had only 5 marks and 0 tackles and a lot of ineffectual junk - and Curnow has obviously put big numbers on the board and potentially shaping as a must have rookie.

I will probably change my opinion by Friday but atm I think I will be getting Curnow in as it will mean that I am playing with a full deck of cards. The downside of not having him has a bigger effect than burning a sideways trade in this situation if Curnow continues his Barlow like form.

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

My main "weak" area is my backline, with Coad not being selected last week. That said I already have Lower, and the other main cash-cows of interest are Liba in the Midfield (I already have Harris, Swallow and Atley on my bench with Curnow and Cotching on the field) and Tapscott up forward (have Knights, McKernan and I. Smith on the bench).

I originally wanted to do a Smith + Atley for Liba + Trapscott, but I am $200 !!!!!!!!!!!!! Hopefully Trapscott will miss out next week for some reason so I can get him in the week after :D Still think I will do Atley for Liba this week (spewing I went Atley in the beginning, main regret for my team). I will have A LOT of scoring power on my midfield bench, but value is value and they will be used for upgrades soon enough, esp with the x3 weeks of no league matches coming up.

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

I already have abit of cash in the kitty but am too tempted to get some cash cows
Gamble > Tapscott
I.smith > Libba/Curnow

Now i originally was going to just do the Gamble trade and upgrade Yarren to say Pav but am unsure now???
Help?
I relise i probly should have done the smith trade this week and then i could have done the upgrade of Yarren
