Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

I'm going to change tac and trade this week now.

I didn't put much research into my team, and there are 2 players that need to go.

C.Wilson.
Vespremi.

Probably take them to P Davis and Tapscott.

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I currently have Brodie Smith, Otten and Coad on my bench (Lower on the field)

Question 1 - If Coad and Smith aren’t named, which one do I trade?

Question 2 - Who should I bring in Heppell or Savage?

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

I don't know anything about Savage :o
And I didn't even know who Heppel was until a preseason game.

My call on him was that he will be a permanent player for the Bombers. He just looked so composed. I thought he'd been in the system 3 years and I had somehow missed him.

I like the security aspect. And I reckon he will score a number of 100's

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Also, anyone planning on trading Otten? Not sure what to do with him, might hang on another week and see how he goes considering his price change isn't till next week.

LOL, I'm thinking of bringing Otten into my team!! Want to cash-out an unsucessful mid-pricer, and I already have all the other popular cheap defenders.

I thought Otten was fairly okay in R1, he can only get better, and Adelaide have copped a lot of midfielder-type injuries since then - which must surely improve his JS.

And I don't see Otten as a cash cow in my team, moreso as a perm D8-D10 in the second half of the year.

Sorry I mixed up Savage with Suckling - who is obviously out of my rookie price range. Heppell looks like the go, though if Cameron Pederson can keep performing he could be even better.

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Backline: Gibbs, Delideio, Goddard, Grimes, Lower, Duigan, Everitt (Otten, Batchelor, Toy)

- Heppell in mid for MPP purposes.

What is everyone's thoughts on downgrading Everitt to Buckley/Stanley/Watson and banking the change for an upgrade later ?

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

First 2 trades of the season will be:

Atley --> Curnow
Richardson --> Tapscott.

2 reasons:
-Curnow and Tapscott look and play like more skillful, stronger players
-NM have a long injury list and Atley and Richardson's JS won't be too good once the senior players are ready.

Already have Libba, Savage and Heppell, Savage should play through for the whole season if we're lucky :).

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

seems like the best option possible mate looks like you'll gain a lot from that, midfield is very very strong so you can deal with downgrading Lenny to a cheapy for cash.

I'm still trying to figure out the best way to get tapscott into my lineup,

Goddard, gibbs, broughton, grimes, heppel, lower everitt
(duigan, stanley, batchelor)

Swan, pendles, mitchel, selwood, cotchin, harris
(bewick, curnow, savage)

Cox, warnock
(smith, dericx)

Sylvia, goodes, franklin, roo, fyfe, krakour, knights
(matera, darling, riachardson)

I've only got $2000 in the kitty so I was wanting to free up some cash in order to upgrade in coming weeks, I've also got the dud himself everitt in the backline so I need to get rid of him soon as well.

So should i be freeing up some cash by bringing tapscott in for a starting player or someone on the bench, should I get rid of everitt this round? and who could be a good option?

Any help would be great, cheers guys.
mm so you need to get rid of Everit too... i would be doing that this week & you really want Tappscott

if your sold on these 2 and have to have them then i would be going Fyfe to Tapp and then Evershit too Did/Enright

But i would imagine it will be a hard choice to trade Fyfe out but thats what i would do in you sit

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

I went Jolly> Cox
and Conca to Liberatore

Bullies will smash GC so liber should play well... Cox I should have had since the start but down traded to Jolly for someone else that I can't remember....

First 2 trades GAWN!!!

You're joking right? Surely you will wait until Friday.
Especially as there is talk Libba might miss.

Re: Jolly for Cox

Started with jolly last year so didnt go near him this year. Either trade him out this week or keep him for the year, started very slowly last year. Pretty happy so far with Warnock as my 2nd ruck, cheap as chips and scoring well.

Warnock. He will be the #1 ruck this season and is coming off scored of 117 and 100. At $298K he is GREAT value for money (his break even is -18) and you will bank $90K for another upgrade.

Agreed, he’s getting overlooked a bit but he will be an elite ruckman the way he is going. I wonder if anyone will downgrade Sandilands for him, that would be a handy bit of cash.

God this is killing me, I wish I had of had tappy from the start, would have saved me the trouble as I already have curnow. Does anyone else think that fyfe>tapscott would be a good idea in my situation?

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

I'm thinking of trading

Swallow to Libba/Curnow
Montagna to Swan.

I went with a 3 premium, 1 mid priced and 5 rookie mid field which meant that i didn't have enough for Swan at the start. (Judd, Montagna, Pendlebury, Cotchin, Swallow, Heppell, Savage, Pittard, Harris)

I'm thinking doing Montagna to Swan will save me 60k now and i'm don't see Swallow outperforming Libba or Curnow by enough to justify his higher price. Thoughts?

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Have Mitch Clark, assumed he was going to play a lot in the ruck & get back to form of a couple of years ago but with J.Brown going down think he may be stuck in a very uneventful Brisbane forward line, opinions on whether I should upgrade to Cox or hold off in the hope Clark improves?? Cheers
Pull the trigger, Clark is in for a long season i reckon

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Both sides ways, especially Montagna to Swan..

Do you have any other non-performing rookie players?
Most of my rookies are going well but i would trade others ahead of Swallow but Swallow gives me the extra cash to do Montagna to Swan. Swan will go up about 30k after this round and Montagna will drop about 30k so i'm thinking that's 60k saved there. Plus i don't know that Swallow would out perform Libba by enough to make him the better cash cow but not sure if it's worth the trades

What happens when Kreuzer comes back? Same with Mcevoy maybe koshitske's return could hamper their scores

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

I hate talking down my own club but I agree. Clark hasn't really played as a dedicated full forward consistently at AFL level yet, and he's going to have to for at least six more weeks. I'm sure/hoping he's learning but at the moment he really hasn't wrapped his head around it, so apart from the occasional massive score (see the five goal game against Adelaide last year where everything went right for him) he'll be better off out than in.

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Which trade:

In: Deledio/Newman/Enright Out: Jackson Trengrove

OR

In: Swan Out: Rockliff
