Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Which trade:

In: Deledio/Newman/Enright Out: Jackson Trengrove

OR

In: Swan Out: Rockliff

Swan. I really think he'll be the new GAJ where you won't be able to win without him captain.

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Got rid of a couple of North players. Will make it easier to watch games for me without getting frustrated :P

Richardson -> Tapscott
Atley -> Pendlebury
(kept some cash to see which of the premiums i wanted once they'd played a couple of rounds)

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

To get Ed Curnow or not is DOING MY HEAD IN!

As mentioned by fellow BFers job security could be an issue in near future. Could he go missing vs Pies, Bombers and Crows? Or is he this years version of a Barlow-ish type player?

Where is my crystal ball!?

Curnow is not the sort of player that will go missing. He is an inside mid with a super running capacity and a mature body, at 21 he is primed to play a full season.

I wouldn't worry about JS, he will hold his spot IMO.

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Atley > Libba

still deciding on

Hibberd/Bewick > Curnow

Similar dilemma to me Impromptu. With bye week for Dogs/Saints/Lions coming up and having Boyd in my mids I fear I'm leaving myself a little thin on coverage if I trade out Hibberd who I can sub with Heppell.
Should I take the risk of my round 4 bench consisting of Libba Bewick and Boyd?

We in the same shoes...

I've got Heppell in backline and will have Libba, Bewick and Montagna...

I'm leaning to getting rid of Hibberd&Atley...and take the chance....

I feel Bewick (even with his poor SC form) will improve....and be a good cow..

Problem if Pies smash the Blues and Curnow gets dropped then where do you stand with copping a zero or using a trade

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Anyone having serious consideration for Chris Dawes (ave. 125 - $364,600)?

Am really considering trading out Fyfe ($353,100) for Dawes.

Only question is, do people think he can sustain this average for the season and become a "keeper"? Or could I use him as a 'cash cow' and trade again for a premium to drop, like Franklin may?

Also, what are people's thoughts on Boak (Pez, I stuffed up on this one :D)? Downgrade to a rookie, or sideways trade to a J.Bolton, J.Bartell, R.O Keefe, M.Murphy?

Should I do one, or even both trades? looking at trying to improve my team with some aggresive trading early, would like to know peoples thoughts?

You got about room for 1-2 non injury driven sideways trades in this game. The rest are required for upgrades/injuries. If you do want to do it, you are using up this type of thing very early.

Well done on your patience, I used mine last week going from Selwood to Swan!

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

I have only a 1,000 bucks left and didnt get any good bench players in my forward line apart maybe matera. So i was thinking of trading ottens for mckernan and then use the extra cash to trade out issac smith for tapscott.
thoughts??

I'm in the same situation re: Fyfe -> Dawes. It's very tempting, but I'm going to wait and see how Dawes goes against Carlton this week before pulling the trigger. Fact remains the mags have only played two bottom 4 teams from 2010 so far this year.

Fyfe disappointed last week, but round 1 delivered what I picked him for. I'm backing him in Adelaide.

But my issue is I've got cash cow sideways trades to complete given I went in without Libba and Curnow, so I've got to fix that this week before the price increase. The money made there > money lost over Dawes.

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

I have Atley and Conca, wanna bring in Curnow. How do I ditch? kgo.

Dawes, if he manages to score his average what he has against Carlton (77) then his price will still increase to a tick over $400,000, whilst anything over that and close to his yearly average (125) will see his price sky rocket upwards near the lucrative $500,000 mark.

I am trying to fix these two problems before prices jump up etc. Think Dawes, in the superior team in the comp could become a keeper and stay in the side, barring injury all year.

As for Boak goes, I think I may hold onto him, surely he has to pull out some big numbers? surely? Otherwise, Bartell has shown that he can still be a major player in fantasy football.

It's worth taking into consideration that Collingwood have been up against a couple of pretty average teams who they have demolished, so whether he can maintain it against better sides remains to be seen.

I'm thinking Collingwood are going to demolish alot of other teams this year.

Not many sides have got backman who can cover both Cloke and Dawes.

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Will be trading Conca out for Libba.

Other one I am considering is trading out Pittard for Curnow. Haven't had a chance to see Port Adelaide play this year though. Is it worth burning a trade on this or should I keep Pittard? He scored fairly well with an 85 on the weekend from limited possessions.

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Having Masten out for a while makes it easy to justify a trade. Curnow seems to be the obvious choice...

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

No trades this week. I went early last week trading out Selwood for Swan and Gamble for Darling. I know most said to hold off trading last week but I think it was a good move as not having swan was a big error that had to be corrected.:thumbsu:

IMO, if you bring in Dawes now, then you're making a call right now that he WILL BE a keeper, not that he COULD BECOME a kepepr. Otherwise that's two trades burned up going from Fyfe ----> Ultimate Keeper. I don't think anyone has that trading luxury!

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Atley is showing all the signs of not being up to it. Cut him loose!

Ok, will do! Few hours till the teams come out, I'll wait until then and then pull the trigger. Thanks mate :thumbsu:

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Looking to get rid of Boak. I was sceptical when I grabbed him and haven't been impressed so far. It'll be sideways but don't plan on making any moves over the next 3 weeks anyway unless I get some horrific injury.

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

im thinking of getting rid of jolly, and bring in warnock, and getting rid of irons for curnow?? this will leave me a bit of money in the bank, ur thoughts?

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Gamble > Tapscott
Yarren > ROK

what do you guys think??
I'm hoping Rocket rests libba this week so i can pick him up next week before price rise :D

this is one of the trades i'll be doing tonight
