Re: Round 4 Trades

Considering Goddard to Bartel...regret switching Bartel out just before Round 1 now. :p

Unlike my comments a few posts before, where I said trading Montagna isn't such a bad move, I definitely wouldn't be trading out Goddard. He's been far from his best yet is still scoring 110+.

If you're in the top 200, why do you need our advice :)

Personally, I'd be getting rid of Deledio. You might want to look at getting rid of Hibberd too. In terms of premiums not scoring this week I wouldn't be trading solely because they're going to be out for one match. You've got Goddard, Riewoldt, Boyd & Higgins, so you're forwards a little stretched but nothing to get trigger happy about. Remember, you're in the top 200 at the moment because of those players.

You may maintain your good overall ranking "now" by trading premium to premium, but it's going to kill you at the end of the year.

The only trade I'd be considering is Buckley to Prestia

Re: Round 4 Trades

cheers for the advice guys :D
from what you have said, i will keep my premiums and avoid the side trades
but im considering changing a few rookies that dont look like getting games, e.g. hibberd, isaac smith, maybe even buckley but i will judge from selections this week
do you guys have any ideas on good rookies to get? bit hard now with all the price increases as well :/
sighh

Re: Round 4 Trades

sounds like you're going pretty well mate. my plan is to get as many premium keepers into the side asap so if i was you i would trade Swan in now. the upside seems to be more positive than the downside -

the way i see it the positives are; you get his points for a couple more rounds. have another option for captain. if for some unlucky reason you get to LTI's in rd 7 and need to use 2 trades (unlikely i know) you already have him in your side. most importantly, if you are happy with all your rookies and midpricers then most likely they'll be scoring similar to Boak and having them on the field in rd 7 whilst swan is on the pine should net you similar results either way. I don't know if that makes sense...anyway

i' be keen to hear people's thoughts on the negatives to doing this besides having him on the pine for the rd.

Very good points thanks Fozza, seems to be more upside than downside to getting him now

Re: Round 4 and a 3 team bye

Would have thought a player Goddard is a player you hang onto. Can understand you have to draw the line somewhere, but he is still averaging over 100, if he was scoring 50's and 60's so far i'd be pretty worried and could understand wanting to trade him out...

But i am not trading this week. I am a bit stretched though. Have Libba and Boyd in the middle with Hibberd on the bench. Can take the risk and go without an emergancy or swap Hibberd with a Deledio type and bench Swallow in the middle. Have to bench Goddard in defense so have Toy and McKernan the other 2 there. If both Toy and McKernan are named i'll use the MPP. If either one arent named i'll go without the emergancy in the middle. (cause i'll have no emergancy in defense if both arent named, may as well take the risk in the middle)

Re: Round 4 Trades

Not a trade for this week but next week I am doing this -

Otten > Coad

+ my $57,900 in the bank

Knights > Higgins

Just have to hope that Otten and Knights go up $46,000 between them and I can get Higgins into my forward line.

That way I get rid of 2 spuds and get another keeper into the team. :thumbsu:

Will then have a forward line of N.Riewoldt, Franklin, Pavlich, Goodes, Higgins, Krakeour, Petrie. :thumbsu:

Yes I should have had Higgins from the start but I couldn't fit him into my team structure. In hindsight I would have been better getting another rookie than Otten so I could have got Higgins instead of Knights.

Just fixing another f up. LOL! :D:thumbsu:

very nice looking fwd line

Re: Round 4 Trades

I remember when I used to trade on Mondays. Ah, those were the days. Living on the edge. I traded on a Sunday night once or twice too. LOL! :D:thumbsu:
Don't be so hard on yourself, I used to do the same. I've changed my tactic to thinking about who I might trade and do it when the TEAMS ARE ACTUALLY RELEASED! amateur mistakes.

One thing I'd definatly do is trade out hibberd, Essendon are doing really well and I don't see them changing their team around to get games into him. Go for a Otten or a Coad.

Re: Round 4 Trades

if your only worried about winning your league dont see much point in trading if you have bench cover for the players with the bye

Re: Round 4 Trades

I'd imagine the vast majority on here would be going for the best overall ranking possible to start with (top 10,000/top 1,000/top 100/overall winner). Once the goal that you have set for yourself here is gone (prob top 1,000 for me), then you go for the league win. It will be especially difficult to do both this year, due to the advantage to coaches who take advantage of the multi team byes in league match-ups. None of the leagues I'm in are ridiculously hard though, so I think I'll be right to get into finals in all of them and take it from there.

Id still like to wait and see what Higgins throws up in the next few weeks if I were you, he has played the 2 worst teams going around in the last 2 weeks meaning inflated scores, round 1 against Essendon he only managed 87 points. Looking at your forward line I would be trying to get one of Rioli or Chapman in after round 6 and Didak after his first bye.

You could consider Pavlich, Roc or Chris Dawes.

I'm thinking of trading out Liam Anthony before his price takes a dive. The options I'm considering Dangerfield or Fyfe.
What are peoples thoughts. Not that knowledgeable on Anthony , would he be worth holding on to despite the price drop?

Same boat. Replace Knights with Pavlich and that is my FWD line. Green underperforming. Can direct trade for anyone bar Chapman. Not sure what to do. Higgins is tempting at 400k, but his last 2 were against Brisbane and GC, plus he is injury prone. I am waiting on Didak, doesn't seem to have hit his straps yet. Chappy is too expensive. It's out of Rioli, Higgins and Dawes for me I think, if I trade...again Dawes avg is inflated due to massive wins over Port and North....ergh.

Maybe Fyfe?
