Well, I've finished scoring most of the teams. Just waiting on Lawrst, AdelaideFan14 and Bacon 8.

So far my highest team is only in the 70's. I don't know if that means I'm marking it harder? Oh well.

The 'perfect scores' I have awarded so far have been:
BACCS - Inside Mids
Freddy Bassett - Tall Forwards
Footypie32 - Small/Mid-sized forwards
Roo2macca - Tall Defenders
Blackbird RGB & FAITH - Rucks
Footypie32 & Mad Fan of AFL - X Factor

Is tight at the top :)
How exactly does my team not get full marks for experience?

Well I gave you 4/5 which is the highest I've dished out for that category.

That said, players like Higgins, Knights, Davey, Didak, Reilly... might have "games played" but not what I would term "experience."

To me experience is players who have proven that they can consistently produce their best at the most important times.

According to this MFOA he just wants a score out of 100. Still compile your score based on the critera.

The A-Team

FF: Krakouer Naitanui Lynch (Suns)
HF: Nahas Vickery Conca
C: Bastinac Robinson Atley
HB: Savage Frawley L. Brown (Crows)
FB: J. Grimes Rance Jaensch
FOL: Clark Jack (VC) D. Thomas (C)
INT: K. Stevens S. Selwood Liberatore Treloar (Sub)

EM: Tomlinson Ellis Tyson

Before we start this write-up, let me say that I’ll probably get a 0 for experience. Also, maybe have the judging criteria settled BEFORE we do this again and that we are judging this for the 2011 season, not the 2012 season...We haven’t even started the MMC yet this year, so how can we judge how a team and its players will perform? Also before we start, I’ll probably be marking everyone’s teams higher than everyone else is as I always end up doing that sort of thing when marking stuff (I always promise myself that I won’t do it, but I always do).

Now, to my team review....Whilst my team is very, very young, I feel that it would still be able to give any of the more experienced teams picked in the competition a run for their money. Although, my definition of experience is a little different to everyone else’s I think. I’ve picked players on 5 main criteria: Decision making skills, kicking skills, pace, stamina and toughness at the ball (mainly for the inside midfielders, but does apply to other players in my team). I believe that these are the main criteria required to be present in a winning team. I shall discuss my team in its four areas: forwards, defenders and midfield/ruck/interchange in 3 sub-paragraphs (Nobody said anything about sub-paragraphs limits). I’ll still have less writing than most others anyway, so it shouldn’t matter. You should’ve made it a word limit Kristof.
Forwards: I have gone for a 3-talls forward-line with The A-team, with Naitanui, Vickery, and Lynch being those tall’s. It will not be Naitanui at full-forward all the time as the resting ruck will play full forward (meaning Clark will be there at times). All these guys have x-factor and immense talent and will continue improving through this year. The third defender will need to be accountable playing against the A-team, as each of these players is smart, athletic and can take good marks. To complement my 3 talls is arguably the most exciting small forward in the game in Krakouer, another excitement machine in Nahas and young gun Conca. Each of these players is fast and kick the ball well, which will have opposing defenders on their toes. More importantly, being able to kick well, they will be able to spot up a fellow forward with pinpoint accuracy, something Adelaide couldn’t do last year. I plan to play Conca and Nahas a little further up the ground, inbetween half forward and wing. They both will rotate with Bastinac and Atley. If this isn’t x-factor, what is?

Midfield/Ruck/Bench: The A-Team has the perfect blend of inside and outside midfielders. On the inside we have the crazy Tasmanian Never-say-die-hard-nut in Mitch Robinson, blended with the inside class of Kieran Jack (Immensely underrated) and Daisy Thomas (Mr X-Factor). Also to support these three on the bench are Scott Selwood (His last name says it all, plus canalso run as tagger), Liberatore (Young inside gun) and Koby Stevens (Heir to Kerr’s position). Tapping the ball down to them will either be Mitch Clark or Nic Naitanui, both exceptional ruckmen, who can, as Rhett Biglands says, “Snowflake” the ball down to advantage. My outside players in Bastinac and Atley are fast, skilled and great decision makers, providing great delivery into the forwards. Bastinac can run all day, running his opposing wingman into the ground. Treloar (Sub) will come on later in games to run his first year on the wing, adding to the poise, pace and skills already there. Each one of my midfielders is immensely talented, which is what is expected of a player on the A-team.
Defence: Like my forwards, I have a three tall defence. Each tall defender is all class and will monster the forwards they will be put up against. Rance stepped up to being a good defender in the last half of 2011, Frawley is already an All Australian defender and Grimes will be in the future (Rance may be to for that matter). Each defender is a good kick, good marker and mark and is fast enough to follow the athletic forwards seen in today’s game. If the situation permits, I’d like Grimes to play a Scarlett/Bock type role, being an attacking defender. Complimenting my talls are my three smaller defenders in Brown, Special J and Savage. Each player possess great kicking skills, pace and good decision making skills. Having these skills allows the defenders to pinpoint passes out of the defence, through zones.

Whilst mentioning it already briefly above, x-factor is everywhere in my team. You guys (and gals) can see for yourself who has it and who doesn’t. A last message from the Coach of the A-Team (Mr T); “I pity the fool who doesn’t give my team full marks!”

Total Bacon Domination:

FF: Fasolo Dawes Milne
HF: Greenwood S Reid Henderson
C: Deledio Gibbs (vc) Foley
HB: Waters (c) N Brown Laidler
FB: Mattner Dawson Tapscott
R: McEvoy Cross Rich
I: Renouf Picken Bewick O'Shea
E: Morabito Helbig Hampton

Forwards:
The other half to Collingwood's double duo, Dawes is a man mountain, and will work well with the other two talls in Henderson & Sam Reid. Sydney are banking on Reid being their main forward for many years, and Carlton won with getting Henderson (who can switch back as required). Milne has kicked the most goals at Etihad Stadium (where I'm hoping TBD gets a good stadium deal) and Fasolo has taken over Didak as the small forward at Collingwood, which is no mean feat. 68.5 games average experience, these guys kicked 127 goals in 2011 (mainly due to Hendo playing back, and Dawes missing games injured, and Fasolo starting the season late). Only upwards from here.

Backs:
Dawson is one of the best full backs around, wanted by Saints but followed Lyon to Freo. Nathan Brown was one of the rising stars at Collingwood in their 2010 premiership year, polling Norm Smith votes in the replay final. His 2012 all depends on his injury recovery. Laidler made a successful move from Geelong to Carlton. Beau Waters is the toughest back man in the comp, with Tapscott not far off. Both move the ball very well out of their defensive area. Mattner is much maligned, but has really played his role at Sydney, only to get better without Tadgh, he's the defensive general. 74.5 average games back here.

Mids & Rucks:
McEvoy's last 5 weeks of 2011 showed his coming of age as a premier ruckman of the competition. He's got no competition for #1 ruck at the Saints, and will play 22 good games in 2012. Cross is a ball magnet, shipping handballs out to the running Rich (RS winner 2010). Deledio is the youngest life member at Richmond, having played 150 games already at 24. Gibbs isn't too far behind that mark, and is one of TBD's best ball movers. Foley returned from injury in 2011 without missing a beat. My main area of experience, 111 games average, and a return of 60 goals.

Interchange:
Renouf is a premiership ruckman, and should share the load at Port with Lobbe all year. Picken is an excellent tagger and Bewick is a mature age year who'll get a good run at Brissie. O'Shea was one of Port's shining lights in 2011, one of a few who tried every game he played. Morabito had a great debut season in 2010, questions only on his injury recovery. Hampton is an excitement machine from NT, could be better than any player from there, and Helbig is a local kid who has been compared to Riccuito (not just cos they are both from Waikerie).

Pretty happy with the final makeup of Total Bacon Domination. 6 guys with over 100 games, only 1 debutant, and 10 guys with 40-100 games. Could be an exciting year!!!

Kristof do you want a breakdown of the score for each criteria or just an overall score to each name?
Just the final scores out of 100 for each team. Once I post those, you can elaborate.

I agree with AF14 on the judging of the teams. We selected our teams based on what we expect them to produce in 2012, yet the critera is pretty much based on our players output in 2011.

If the same critera worked for 2011 AFC off season game, then a team with Heppell, Stanley, Canno and Darling would have been rated pretty low. However, those selections all would have proved to be very good.

If the critera was released at the start of the game, I'm sure a lot of the teams would look slightly different.

Teams with Walsh, Day and Folau probably won't get rated very high at all for their Key Forwards but there scores could be a lot better if we rated them at seasons end, as that was the objective of our picks.

The Memes

Thomas Schultz Hale
Breust Reiwoldt Wright
Beams Hodge Carrazzo
Guerra Tarrent Smith
Petrenko S.Thompson Otten

Mumford Martin Shuey

Mcphee lovett murray L.Thompson (Sub)Jetta

Emergency Saad Hampson Mullett

Backline
Very solid, Tarrent is a bloody good defender in a great side. S.Thompson is a very handy performer down there too. Otten as the 3rd tall with Pets, smith and Guerra taking the smalls. All three can do stints in the middle as well as go up forward. Along with L.T and Lovett Murray my side has enough good and versatile defenders to change match ups when needed.

Middle
Hodge, Martin, Shuey, Carrazzo, Beams. A good mix of players who can run through brick walls to get the ball and feed it to the outside runners. With a large number of rotations available with Breust, Wright, Guerra, Smith, Petrenko, Mcphee, lovett murray and Jetta all being good enough to play in there. I think with Mumford dominating the ruck and feeding them the ball this midfield will work together better than the names suggest. Hampson as a backup is good insurance!

Forwards
Reiwoldt, do i need to say more? Gun
Shulz is a good second option and Hale as the 3rd tall/2nd ruck worked very well for hawthorn this year. Thomas, Breust and Wright can all steal goals from nowhere, Breust is the one who I think is going to tear up this year 30 goals from 17 games in his first year in a team that is very franklin centric. Thomas just needs to learn which sticks to kick the ball through and he will be a great little forward.

Are you guys planning on having a simple poll for us non-players to vote, like previous years? I'd love to have the opportunity to vote as I've been following this comp from the stands, but I really CBF going through all that criteria for every one of the teams. Maybe a "peoples choice" category for non players?

I guess you can rate the teams however you want. Just because your rating isnt 'official' doesnt mean its not appreciated! Any outside input is welcome! :)

One team scored 65 for me. It had quite a poor forward line and only a sprinkle of talented mids. Not many names blew me away.

I had 2 teams score 63! I think 1 of those would be the same team your talking about. The other had a decent midfield, but had no other real strengths.

We are judging the players on what we think they will do in 2012 which does make what we're doing more about judgement than anything crystal clear (I'd rate a side like Kristof's higher if I was confident Nick Riewoldt would get back to somewher near his best, come end of year I wouldn't have to guess. Hayes is another one that I really have very little confidence he'll do anything special this year, but come end of year I could be completely wrong.), but like Kristof has said before, people tend to lose interest in a game they played 6 months ago so if we don't do something now it could never happen. Having said that the level of enthusiasm and commitment this year has been unbelievable compared to the other years I've played the game.:thumbsu:

Lowest score I gave out was a 57, and highest was a 79. A lot of teams fell in the 65-75 range. Gave out a couple of perfect scores for inside mids as there is a lot of quality around, but only one other perfect score outside of that (tall forwards).

Im actually thinking of subtracting points for missing initials infront of names! Just b/c you know which one you have doesnt mean the rest of us do! Have had to change my ratings a few times!

As long as you give scores out of 100 for each side, you can vote. Don't worry about the criteria.

Just to clarify, I have Gary Ablett in my midfield - not Nathan Ablett.

Please amend scores accordingly and apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Thanks for clarifying that Carl. Actually got confused- thought Snr had retired! Innocent mistake im sure... :D

So - I have six lots of votes in.

I'm going to do mine at work tomorrow, and no rush as long as its done by midweek.

So - how public to we want to make the final table?

All 18 in order? With score? With scores listed by voter? What's too much?
