2012 ATP World Tour 250/500 series (inc. AAMI Classic etc)

We say it every year, but they still contiually show too much of Kooyong. It's a exho, nobody cares. Much rather see the Australian who's playing for points and who's actually winning over a good player.

True but they were always going to show Tomic regardless of the event - it could be a scratch match in ballarat for all they cared

Besides, Roddick, Fed, Tsongs, Tomic, Berdych, Djockovic in the same tournament is going to be really boring ain't it...

That would be true if they were all playing in the same tournment. Federer and Djokovic are not playing....

And im pretty sure most people me included would rather watch a tournment played for ranking points rather then an ehxo. Why cant they put Kooyong on 7 and Sydney on 7TWO or something like that.

dah third set. I think some idiot in the crow may've put Ebden off though. He was up 30-0 and someone yelled out "out" and it sounded like a linesman so Ebden stopped.

oh well bad luck Matt. Baghdatis probably had too much experience for him in the end. Still some good signs, hopefully he can get a good draw at AO and win a couple of rounds.

Pretty ordinary tiebreak from Ebden, didn't really believe in himself really when he really had a good gameplan in the first set, he did get tight. Going to have be something to overcome.

I reckon the reason why they are showing the AAMI classic from Kooyong is because it caters for the Sydney audience

That way it is not directly telecasting directly against the gate for the matches at the olympic park precinct

EDIT - loving the tennis on 7two, whereas 7 can show its reruns of movies from the 1980s :p

Monfils in the corner of the court, unties his shoe laces, holding his ankle...

Roger Rasheed, “There won’t be much in this”.
Bruce "That's harsh!"
Fitzy "Are you suggesting he doesn't have a huge pain threshold?"
Rasheed "It's called theatre".

:D New respect for Rasheed. :thumbsu: I'm guessing they didn't leave on fantastic terms.

All Roger Rasheed does now that he doesnt coach Monfils is just say negative stuff about him....Someones a bit bitter.

Have you been watching the match? He's completely right. Monfils' play has been a joke for the whole match. I love Rasheed's commentary, so refreshingly honest and provides a decent analysis

That was probably the best I've seen Baggy play for a long, long time.

Well yes....BUT Del Potro was so ordinary. Is it just me or has he lost 10-15km on his serves AT LEAST! That is taking nothing away from Bagdahtis who was sublime.

Hopefully the problems that have seen Raonic (replaced by Nishikori on Thursday) and Tsonga withdraw from matches at Kooyong aren't too serious (Tsonga's apparently just buggered), not that it's gonna affect the final on Saturday.

Interesting to notice that out of Bob and Mike Bryan (the Bryan Brothers Doubles combination), that Bob is actually the better singles player

Interesting that doubles specialists dont do so well for men's tennis as opposed to women's

What an awful farsical "tournament" the AAMI international is down there in Melbourne

Nothing more than a glorified hit up played in front of 16 people and getting fta live tv coverage on a commercial network

I guess not having the status of it being an ATP event really took the interest away from big names bothering to front up

I know its only an exhbo but good to see Tomic win Kooyong. Hopfully he doesnt follow the same trend as Hewitt and lose first round of AO.
