Not unless I join the chorus of threads that are bound to pop up lamenting we chose player X rather than player Y.

Sort of like the thread lamenting that we didn't pick Leroy Jetta a few years back.

We'd be a player short

No, I mean we could still add another player to either the senior list or the rookie list. Under the above scenario we would have 38 + 5

Maybe Tim Membrey or Spencer White if he's there - much prefer than Paparone as a forward. We can probably forget about Jacobs as Essendon will get him at this stage (plus his price is probably too high).

IMO a dream draft would be:

11. Jackson Macrae
36. Tim Membrey/Spencer White
56.Tim Temay
71. Travis Tuck

Rookie: Andy Collins

Macrae gives us a top midfield prospect with x-factor and some great footwork.
Membrey gives us a medium (may grow a few more cms) forward to release Tex into the middle and could come in straight away and make an impact ala JD in 2011.
Temay is a solid long term option to Carrazzo and an upgrade on Joseph, who I think will be delisted at the end of 2013 once his contract runs its course.
Tuck is definitely worth the pick up (if not as a rookie) and gives us immediate depth in the position that counts most.

Not sure if Collins deserves to be picked back up but at the least I think he should as a rookie.

Horrible question, two guys I really can't split which is why one is 7 and one is 8 on my list. Perhaps Mayes because of senior SANFL experience and a bigger body but very close call.

Ok, yeah that answer is telling of how hard it is to answer that question, i guess i am looking at ways to split the two as i cannot decide which i favour more. I have use playing styles and other criteria but I think i'll accept to wanting both and be rapt if we get either, although i doubt Mayes will get past both the Power and Lions.

Mayes lists Chris Judd as the player he'd most like to play alongside in the AFL
