I'm 90% sure we will pass on Mason Shaw. I would put money on it, if he's available we will overlook him.

Wallace on AFL Trade Radio said that he has heard Freo are after Nathan Hrovat for their first round selection.
A 174cm midfielder is not something we are short off and, in keeping with our policy of ignoring needs, I fully expect that this will happen. Selecting someone like Shaw when we have a glaring deficiency in developing talls would be way too simple.

It seems that the Freo list management committee will only draft KPF's with high draft picks (I assume top 5 or 10) or thru FA. I think it's an outdated veiw on drafting but it I'm sure we won't be drafting KPF's with our first or any of our picks no matter who's available.
I pray to god Terry is talking out of this rear-end which he usually is... Hrovat is a 2nd rounder at best. Small, slow, good hands in close but thats about it. Homeless mans Scott West, which is close to last on our list of needs

I don't think an inside midfielder should be all that high on our list of needs, but if we wanted one then Hrovat may well be the best available at #17 - if he lasts that long. But still, I'd rather some height or speed instead.
We already have Lower, Broughton, deboer, Neale, with Sheriden, Sloithe, learning the ropes. How many inside mids do we require?
The only tall depth we have is in the ruck, I would go Kp for our first pick, unless ALL the true Forwards and Backs are gone, wont happen, it will be Freo policy of so called Best Available, I hope we dont become the next Richmond.

What about Dean Kent as a rookie?
Write up in Afl.com said he played a couple of good games for Geelong this season at CHB (i think) had 18 possessions and took 7 or 8 marks. The teams he played against though were Melbourne and GWS IIRC.
Apparently Hawthorn tried desperately to trade for him the year before but Geelong wouldn't deal. He has lost currency since then though. Not sure if an upgrade on Silvagni.

My draft wish list: we have 3 picks before the eagles have their first. If what they get for pick 46 turns out to be a better player than what we get for 17/37/40 I wish the world to end, cause the taunts will be unbearable.
