Want to see Scott Lycett and Koby stevens play 10 games each this season

I was considering having a question pertaining to games played by those two.

I'd like to see Cox in particular given a rest and Lycett to come in during the middle of the season. For that to happen though, we'll have to get the season off to very good start.

Looking at the photos of Stevens, you'd have to think he's pretty close to getting some minutes in the centresquare. He was dominant for the Sharks last year and if he stays fit, he'll just about be unstoppable this season.

Interesting that everyone has Newman playing that many games. Looked good at training today, is small but doesn't look out of place. Looked really good in tight with the press drills.

Think he will play a game, not sure how many, fighting with Hill, Hams, Strijk, Neates etc for a position that doesn't even exist at the moment as the 22 will be tough to break with a healthy list.

I agree, but then someone in another thread pointed out that we always play our top draft pick in their first season*.

2011 - Gaff 17 games
2010 - Shepherd 14 games
2009 - NN 10 games
2008 - Masten 9 games
2007 - Mitch Brown 5 games in first half of season before injury.
2006 - Shannon Hurn 6 games
2005 - Matthew Rosa 3 games
2004 - Beau Waters 10 games
2003 - Paul Johnson 1 game
2002 - Chris Judd 22 games
2001 - Andrew McDougall 0 games
2000 - Darren Glass 14 games

So it shows, even non-top 10 picks will be given opportunities even in a team that is in flag contention.

* unless your name is Andrew McDougall.

Shuey better not have a bad year or the knives will be out!

cant see it Q..he had a good steady year, confidence grew, made some mistakes, learnt some things, mainly showed his potential class..reckon with another preseason behind him-he'll be a machine this season!

but if he does somehow(injury?) have a bad season..theres others waiting in line, who might also be a pleasure to watch?:thumbsu:

we draw with the hawks!? (this is fun)

I was about to post the same thing. There's just nothing the least bit chancy about what he does. He wins his own clearances, has good vision and very good skills. If Kerr and Priddis struggle with injury, Shuey would be the focus of the opposition's midfield defence, so that would certainly make his life harder.
