Kyle Martin a Collingwood rookie is getting massive possessions and is unlikely to get a senior midfield role unless he moves.

Gringo, I'm starting to warm to your thinking.

From all reports this guy is killing it at VFL, FWIHH.

Guys like Martin & Hallahan are worth considering, particularly we don't have to give up much to get them, just the opportunity for more game time.

Don't we have enough slow midfielders already.......those two will just add onto that.

I think pacy solid outside midfielders are what we should be after.

If they don't spend it on Boyd they have to spend it on someone else. I think it sucks that there is such a narrow band between the Salary Cap minimum and maximum, but that's what it is.
With Lenny retiring who do we spend a chunk of cash on. Farren Ray? Dempster?

I'm actually dead set against giving the young players ( Including Boyd) too much too soon, it demotivates, and causes trouble down the track because no-one ever want's a pay cut.

Not really.

Not really.

I'll have to look at it later when I'm allowed to turn the sound up. :D
But I really think the AFLPA haven't seen the big picture. They wanted free agency and minimum salary cap, and the result seems to be that superstars are making a bigger cash grab, which comes at the expense of the rank and file players.

Once he figures out which way his feet point Josh Bruce will be an outstanding footballer, and a very good fwd for the saints.
Saints should be targeting Jaksch and Whiley, would be two huge ins..
Do you think Whiley + Golds could be packaged for a later type pick like Edwards + Aylett?

Not sure Golds is AFL standard, he is struggling at NEAFL for consistency, Whiley definitely worth a try

Thanks Morti.

Say there was a chance of a two for one late pick deal who do you think "could" get added in with Whiley? noone?

JOR an option and he has a lot of upside, Jaksch also but he has a higher value, maybe Buntine?
It's really hard right now, GWS actually have heaps of cap room, but fwd planning says it vanishes fast so they will have to be picking and choosing constantly for the 5 years in terms of who has to be kept and who should be helped to a better home..

What type of mid is Whiley? How is his speed and kicking?
He has played inside and outside, played some wing and m/f too but is a big ball winner.
Taller than Armo but similar build, probably a natural outside mid who can win his own ball

Interesting. From what little I know of him it sounds like me might be useful. Any thoughts on what his rough value would be?

St Kilda will consider trading the first pick in the national draft if it finishes on the bottom, as the club explores all avenues available to rebuild the playing list and bring success.

‘‘If we do finish with the first selection in this year’s draft, all avenues will be explored to bring greatest benefit to the club,’’ said Pelchen, who said the current system was more difficult for a bottom team than ever before and that the club had to be ‘‘creative’’.

Well. Pelchen also says he will look at a 2 for 1.

EDIT: Well, beaten by Knifes. Regardless, this well make this thread VERY interesting. Not too different ( :p), but interesting nonetheless.

Absolutely no idea tbh, he has played 10 games in 3 years, but literally only hit his straps this year, it almost certainly depends on whether SOS wants to keep him or not. Given he has been named emergency 1/2 dozen times but not cracked a game its impossible to read, but if the list management team elect to divest he won't be dear that for sure.

Don't find it interesting the exact same crap GWS said last year.

PP though i find interesting and confident we snag.

WOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Many clubs do not see that there is a clear standout in the national draft this year, and there is speculation that the Saints will seek to trade – perhaps in the manner that Melbourne exchanged pick No.2 for pick No.9 and Dom Tyson – on the grounds that the Dees needed more than one player.
