Terry Wallace just scoffed that saying he would be horrified if St Kilda did that. Who would lead the young guys if he did leave? They then mentioned what Melbourne did re trading out leaders

St Kilda has inquired about the availability of Tom Boyd after the number one draft pick surprisingly asked for a trade to the Western Bulldogs.

The Saints, who have the number one pick in this year's draft and have declared their interest in trading it, contacted Boyd's manager Liam Pickering and the Giants immediately after Boyd's request was revealed.

IF Boyd only wants to join the Dogs for financial reasons, then the Saints might be some chance. We could surely match the Dogs' offer dollar for dollar. Whether we should, depending on the Dogs' proposal, is a separate issue.

The fact that GWS want Griffen puts the dogs a mile ahead of us unfortunately. GWS trade Boyd to us for pick one and they wont get Griffen.

They're not going to give Boyd up for a bloke who'll turn 29 next year with back problems.

They apparently want Petracca so i think we're in with a very, very good chance of getting him.

Can we seriously stop trying to trade Steven? He's potentially a top-20 player in the competition, and it'd be ridiculous if we traded him IMO, rebuild or no rebuild.

Let's say the Saints and Dogs were offering Boyd the same financial terms - if you're Boyd, why on earth would you not want to learn from the best CHF of the past 15 years or so? Although I guess at the Dogs he could learn a thing or two from Ayce Cordy and Tom Campbell... hard to turn that down.
