Wonder what would happen if the AFLPA organised a 'List Reboot' for the AFL and put every player in the comp into a draft?

Just start the whole thing over. Run a week long draft and base it on # of flags ÷ years in the comp.

1 - GCS
2 - GWS
3 - Fremantle
4 - St. Kilda
5 - Footscray
Etc.

Players nominate their wages (cant be more than 10% higher than current wage) pre draft so clubs need to take financials into account as well.

Players sign for 4 years max initially but become UFA after that. Flip side is club can trade contracts ala NBA - no need for player consent as long as new team honors contract plus relocation costs.

Would be epic!

In that case, you have mu attention kind sir!

Given your friendship with Brian, I suggest you must know something I don't in order to make that sort of statement.

My PM is open if you care... :)

Yep I second that.....Steve help a brother out :D:D:D:cool:

Would do Boyd for P1

Because he himself is a 19yo P1

It would be no different to taking a kid in the draft IMO

Anyone u21 with Elite potential is surely P1 worthy.... Perhaps 8-12 players I'd do for P1... In the entire comp. GWS have a few of them.

See page 915 & look for Katy Perry.... My Pelican deal is better :thumbsu:
If I could draft Katie Perry it may be the steak knives to get the deals done well at least it would make the players functions more memorable!!

Only issue with your drafting is that it need many moving parts.

Mine essentially is a deal with Melbourne and if GWS want to play along they can provided they do a deal with Carlton. If not 2,3,12,21,22 is a good result for STK still lose Jack which is still sad.

So I'm still off the list?

I'm pretty sure we can upgrade him after round 8 or 11 no matter what.

I think you are correct mate. In any event, Mav is happy to be at an AFL team. I might be wrong but can't we pay rookies whatever we want? We could potentially be paying him the same as if he was on the list. Not sure - does anyone know the answer? We will no doubt have a LTI in the first 8 rounds so I expect him to play anyway.

I saw him grand final day at a servo on crutches and his missus was making him drive!

He was driving today too and not limping when he was walking around. He's got a girly car though.

Are key forwards what they used to be in the modern congested game?

Would you rather Ablett or Hawkins?

Fyfe or Tippett?

Dangerfield or Roughhead?

You can win flags without monster forwards dominating, but you can't without an epic deep midfield.

I could be way off but I can't see Boyd & Patton dominating like Dunstall & Plugger did. Gun key forwards are obviously still going to help win games, but I just wonder whether I'd rather spend the big picks on gun mids. I'd rather 10 dangerous avenues to goals like port than a champion forward that gets swamped on every entry.

HS still linking us to Taylor Hunt.... Ugh.

Slightly off-topic, but with (loosely) potential deals afoot for Membrey, Hunt, Boyd, Jaksch and Schoenmakers, I took stock... Do we not trust our own development?

Players on our list from other clubs (age order); Dempster, Schneider, Ray, Delaney, Lee, Savage, Hickey, Roberton, Weller, Bruce and Longer...

Even with Maister and TDL gone, that's a whole lot.

I agree with you, but let's remember that the games that we won this year came off the back of dominant performances from riewoldt- our very own key forward (although i know he is a genuine freak and slightly different to your conventional key forward)

I wouldn't stress, several people from the club have said we are not interested in him.

Every club brings in recycled players, we just need to pick the right ones
