god the doggies are dumb. they've just opened the door on boyd to the other 16 clubs

boyd wont get traded and it will now give the likes of Carlton, Collingwood, Essendon and Freo to spend the next 12 months restructuring their payments to make room for him and get in the ear of his management and him.

12 months is a long time in football. doggies have many problems in their football dept and playing list that wont be resolved inside 12 months

should have kept it quiet IMO

Exactlyyyyy. Give me two of Duggan/De Goey/Weller/Laverde/Ahern over Petracca every day of the week. Jaxons said the other day we think there's a lot of good players in this draft just makes sense to grab more of them.

If players like Dunstan and Acres were available at 18+19 just think of the talent that will be available in the top 10.

or we down grade again and potentially have two picks in the teens that could see us coming up with a Lamb a slider from above or maybe a Goddard

and we'd probably still have steak knives to uncles man in the 2nd rounder and get a neal bullen

all of which is better than pick 1

I wouldn't. Because any decision that they make will be based on their assessments on what they will get at 4 and 7. For example, if they think they will get Wright + Lever at 4+7 to set us up, they may think that's more valuable. If they are of the belief that pick 1 is nowhere near as beneficial as it has been in the past (due to it being so even at the top) then they may make that call.

In other words, they've been monitoring this talent for a long time. We have a tendency to fall in love with the idea of certain players (most of the posters so in love with Petracca, Mccartin etc haven't seen them play a minute).

So basically, I will blindly follow the Pelican wherever he may take us.

If we are set on my boy then I'd be hoping for Wright over McCartin; I see PW as a CHF long-term, whereas both Paddy and Reece are more classic FFs.

Wright could also potentially replace Stanley as the fwd/ruck, leaving us a forward line of:

HF: ***** - White - Membrey*
FF: ***** - McKenzie - Wright

Taking McKenzie after we've taken one of Wright/McCartin would make no sense to me. Grab a slider or a midfielder for mine, don't need another ok-ish tall prospect (which is what second round talls usually are).
