See having this argument about McInees and Boots highlights our recruiting strategy from Ratts time. So many HBF and HFF types.
It's good to see us draft genuine mids in the last 2 drafts. I expect another sizeable cull this year. Blokes like McLean, ellard, Robbo would be nervous. Interesting to see if army gets a run a few weeks once he get a few games under his belt.
Scotto will retire, Judd who knows, carrots and Waite would prob play for another yr or 2.
Draft of trade for a fwd, that is the question

Throw the kitchen sink at securing a forward from GWS (Patton, Boyd, Cameron, Jaksch, etc), throw it at Frawley too!!!
If this succeeds, Hendo becomes a forward, Waite has a replacement and we draft mids, mids, mids!
If this fails, there is KP talent in the coming crop and we look to develop our own, and resort to patience (which our mob aren't the best at).

I would be surprised if McLean and Robbo are on our list next year. Sugar needs a big one too!

Pretty keen on Kristian Jaksch. Can play both CHF or CHB and would be the cheapest tall at GWS.

I'd still like to keep faith in Watson. IMO is an upgrade on White for the 3rd tall position. And with Henderson and Jaksch ability to play both ends, could allow Watson to play KPD if we are to top heavy.

A quality tall 18year old
A Grayham type 2nd/3rd round hard bodied mid
A project ruck with a rookie or late draft pick

A young trade/free agent

Frawley if we are going an older age bracket, otherwise one of the GWS second years Jaksch Tomlinson etc

This season's about getting games into Bucks, Menzel and hopefully Graham.

yep - 80 -90 points shows it. murph, how many missed goals has murph had this year ? captains goals ? whens he singlehandedly dragged us over the line with some brilliance ?
curnow - so someone else takes him to the ball ? if lucky he doesnt turn it over too many times. lets get a team full of taggers, preferably with poor to average disposal.
Kruez - he's had his hips surgically shaved, has done a major knee, has a shattered foot. but, just needs a preseason. as a big, heavy player he'll never be the same again.
Ellard - 5 kicks 4 handballs. flying. need more undersized players who can get 1 kick a quarter.

if your happy with the list & reckon its gonna click & we'll be in the top 4 shooting it out for the grand final good luck to you. truth is, its not a good list & has gone backwards terribly.

I reckon we have turned ourselves into an unattractive club to come to. You want to shake loose decent players, you have to offer them hope. Complete disarray does not offer hope.

Rebuild. In order of jumper #, if not mentioned = keep.

Gibbs: gone. Get something good for him. Will be a jet at another club, but stagnating here.
Judd: will pull the pin and good luck to him. Champion, but failed experiment for us. No cup and any discipline he bought to the club has evaporated.
Warnock: should be in his prime, but apart from hitouts, what does he bring? Stuck with him now, unfortunately.
Robinson: needs time in the ressies to improve his disposal.
McLean: too expensive for what he brings to the list. Mick doesn't like him. Gone.
Rowe: not AFL standard.
Bootsma: geez he'd want to prove something this year. Keep based on turnover in the rest of the list.
Waite: finished. Someone might throw us something for him based off his performances last year but I wouldn't hold my breath.
Casboult: like Warnock has one plus to his game, his marking. Like Bootsma, needs to prove his value to the club this year.

So that's five gone and two maybes, with a few on the cusp: Armfield, McInnes, Lucas, Watson. Ugly times on Royal Parade.

Yeah, you're not the only one. Would be interesting on a flank, has to be worth 20-30 goals a year, defensive assets as well.

Enough beating about the bush if the club wants to move forward we need to start moving players off our list.

Scotland why was he rookie listed if there is no intent to play him? Wouldn't offer him another contract.

McLean sorry but we will not win a flag with this guy in our starting midfield. Not going to improve enough to challenge the Hawthorns of this world. Delist him at the end of the year.

Robinson the guy tries hard but his disposal just isn't good enough would he get a game at Geelong or Hawthorn I don't think so. Needs to be delisted also.

Waite time to move him on and let Casboult have a real crack at it.

Armfield just not good enough wouldn't get a game at top clubs and if we want to be a top club these are the hard decisions we must make.

Ellard how many years has he been on the list and cannot cement a spot enough said.

McInness compare him to a Mackie or Birchall he isn't even close to these guys doesn't influence the game enough would delist him also.

This may sound harsh but as a club we cannot simple keep picking the same team as we have been and expect different results. If we want to surge up the ladder big changes are required!!!!!!

Stand by what I wrote the other day anyone who thinks we are near a flag is kidding themselves!!!!!

Warnock doesn't do enough for the modern game has no influence in general play. Would delist him

Garlett offer him as trade bait might get something decent for him.

But seriously. Is one of the most damaging players in the team once near the forward 50. Once Docherty cements a spot, would love to see Tuohy playing as a high half forward.
