I think just about every draft since 2010 has apparently been a weak draft and the later it gets in the year the less the 'weakness' gets talked about. I think the 2008 draft had something to do with expectations being so high.
Agree. I think the draft pundits tend to change their tune slightly as the year goes on but the punters still stick with the "apparently this group lacks quality/depth/KPPs" lines that they were fed in the first half of the year.

So he's basically Brendon Goddard MK2? Think that's the player comparison that sums him up from what you're saying.

Essentially, yes. Similar to Goddard.

Yeah, pretty well. Every year good kids get picked right throughout the draft. From memory, this is a younger draft class compared to the last 3 or so drafts. Meaning, these boys should develop pretty rapidly over the coming months.

Very much so. There's a couple of articles that claim a couple of recruiters mention it's a weak draft and then everyone just runs with it for as long as they possibly can.

Said this before, but I think it's better overall than last years.

It seems to me like the weak draft line is always prominent early in the year, then towards the end of the year the draft class have all matured physically and had a further year of playing development and suddenly pundits proclaim a deeper pool.

Yep.

I also think there's a tendency to overrate "next year's crop" around this time.

From the video footage Keays looks like an outside precision left foot user of the footy. If he could become a Suckling type with a little more ticker we would have the sort of player we need

#11 Matt Uebergang NEAFL Rnd10 14/6/15 Redlands vs G.C. Suns

Was named BOG in this one (21 Disposals, 10marks, 1 Goal), and has been named in the best in 7 of his 8 games played, playing as a Defender.

(apology for the poor quality)

I wonder if we'll have a free spot on our senior or rookie list for him at the end of the year. Probably should've taken him last year though.

The embed won't work - only direct links do. Embedded videos don't show ads and unfortunately that's the only way the petrol required to cover SA juniors gets covered! Aware it's a little morally ambiguous to put ads on them but I figure videos with ads > no videos at all. Sorry for the inconvenience. Another 40 or so will be rolled out over the next week.

Call me crazy but I'd actually love for him to make a name for himself at another club. He feels a bit surplus to needs for us, but a few of these academy kids showing up at other clubs but STFU some of the rabid Eddieites on BF.

He's a tantalising prospect young Uebergang. Not many talls get taken as mature agers though.

Ben Brown was the latest one that's had some success. Think Matt will only improve every year as he didn't play a lot of footy during his teenage years. If we don't take him this year, someone will snap him up. Is he still in our Academy?

Buzzzzzzzaaaa with an early mark and goal at full forward.
