1 point that I appear to not understand. If we finish last people are assuming that the PSD threat for Aish is diminished. The question I ask is do you expect us to select Aish on the PSD? If not am I missing something? The threat is there either way.

I hope we do.

Players enter ND knowing they may end up anywhere. Why 2 years in, they could enter another draft knowing they can get to their destination. It's BS and time to do a Nick Stevens on Aish. We are best positioned to do it using PSD #1, as much as I don't want the spoon. Let him nominate a 3 year, whatever $ deal - pick him up and let him fulfill that contract.

If Prince need to dragged across the mud kicking and screaming, so be it.

There's a chance we would. It might only be a small chance but if Carlton are really keen they won't want to take that chance.

Just as much as Carlton using it on us is completely flawed. Outside of BigFooty clubs don't go there unless they absolutely have to. Carlton also have players wanting to leave so if they pull PSD crap on us others will pull it on them as well. Clubs on the whole are looking to do what's best for them within the trade system as they all have long memories. If Carlton pulled it on us then one of their guns was out of contract next year what do you think would happen?

Only reason PSD card is played is if we're being totally unreasonable about our expectations and given it sounds like Aish doesn't even want to go there it's totally irrelevant anyway.

I understand the desire for a KPF, and I agree BUT, I can't help but think a inside mid with pace to break a pack, or at least get on the outside of his player when on the spread would be absolute gold for our team. We just look like we are mostly on the back foot, with players like a Zorko or a Hanley (who have a nice turn of speed) mostly working in isolation, and personally I think they provide more upside for us in different position.

I'd hate to know the number of times a handball out of congestion by opposition has lead to a kick over the back of our defensive line from opponents mids with pace. With that style of mid I can't help but think we could either put more pressure on that disposal or at least get more space on the spread which leads to opponent inside mids chasing and creating more space in the corridor for us to use.

I think it was Quigley who said Partington is similar to the player you described. Looks like he'll be drafted in the first round and you'd think the Crows would be keen. Even if we had a pick around that mark if Keays or Hipwood gets a bid before it we wont be able to use it anyway. Perhaps Keays could be the player you described.

Yeah Partington fits the bill. Really nice mix of an inside/outside game. For what it's worth, I've got him around the 5-10 mark.

Some can deal with it some can't. Reckon he'll be right. Losing your parent early would give you a bit of strength and the ability to handle pressure.

Realistically it should be happening anyway. I think it is time to change the contracts of first round draft picks. 4 year deals at a minimum IMO.

What it should be is 3 years minimum for kids in the 1st round and then 2 years for kids after the first round.
