Interesting strategy - perhaps the lions will knock back all Aish trades (unless too good to refuse) and require all current picks for academy picks and certain incoming player trades

Not sure how to embed tweets so copy pasted. Good deal re Walker and Jansen I think - need the points next year and only if we have the spoon will our third rounder be better.

Didn't even have to give up that valuable pick 39 this year for them - brilliant trading.

Well the bigger guys do take longer to develop. He is 26 next year and they hope he will reach puberty.

Walker and Jansen for a 2016 3rd round pick? AFL will probably dump compensation next year knowing our luck. So could well be in the 39/40 range (but literally can only be as low as Pick #37 ). Dare say Geelong will use it to get Smith if they're allowed to on-trade it (can't quite remember the rules and if they apply to on-traded picks). Seems about right for Walker/Jansen. Probably just about right for Walker alone really.

Happy with Walker. Good get. We simply can't rely on Freeman/Schache/McStay. Whilst that combo might work in 5 years (McStay probably stronger down back however) we need someone like Walker to be our #1 target now. 23 years old soon and will start to come on nicely. Walker can be a 30 goal forward in 2016 should he play 20-22 games for us.

I'm told by a reliable source that Currie is a good ruckman performing very well in the VFL - just happens to have a beast who wants to ruck full games ahead of him.

I’m keen on getting Astbury in. We need help down back with mature bodies. If he passes all the medicals pick 21 on a key position back who has runs on the board playing on some of the best key forwards. It will only help our young defenders develop.

As long as it does not hinder us picking up our academy kids.

He couldnt get a game at Richmond. Think about that sentence. 3rd rounder at best. Pick 21 was what we got for Patfull last year a 2 times b and f and got Christensen with.

Injury aside, I bet they do. We have been monitoring Jansen all year and Walker has shown enough to suggest he will go right in.
