No way would I deal ah chee for anything less than a pick under 40 in this draft. I would rather see how he goes for us next season. We hardly have anything to lose keeping ah chee for one more year than adding pick 44 (pick 46/48?after more compo picks?) in this draft and waiting for a few years to see if he works out.

I agree, anything less than pick 40 for Ah Chee should not be considered. Gold Coast currently have four second round picks.

If the market will not pay the price I am happy to keep Ah Chee and move on.

I gotta admit if I had a choice between Toumpas and Ah Chee I'm going Arch everyday of the week

If we had serious balls we'd pay out Toump and move the **** on

Toumpas PLayed some okay games early in the year. Why no faith, he could turn it around and become a good wingman/HBF

This is my concern with trading Ah Chee. For mine he is better and has more potential than at least 10 players on our list. So while we need to clean out some deadwood, we should still try to start at the very bottom and work our way up.

He has the potential to be our best player after Wingard and Gray. It pisses me off that he hasn't shown that consistently but I would persevere with him on the list.

Exactly. People like talking about Ah Chee as trade bait but his replacement would be Toumpas. On that basis alone I'd keep Ah Chee every day of the ****ing week.

So in what market is ah chee worth a second rounder? What you are asking is not market value, it's insanity.

We will keep him and then get nothing after he is delisted end of next year. It's not Lobbe tier **** up, but a **** up regardless.

See: O'shea

This will cause controversy but O'Shea is actually a good player. He's just another one that hasn't kicked on from 2014. It speaks volumes that a lot of players regressed once Richo left for the Saints. He's the prime example.

I agree with everyone here saying they would rather keep ah chee than toumpas, but toumpas and ah chee are completely different situations. You can only move on who you can move on at the time. We are not going to pay out contracts, as much as I wish we could and would.

I agree with all of what you just said, and i know we won't pay out contracts. Even more to say keeping Ah Chee is worth it. Seriously, the further away Toumpas is from the seniors, the better.

Forever average ah chee or take a chance with a reasonable pick in 44 in a list aching for change and restructure if list profile. I know I'd prefer the latter, but obviously not everyone is inclined to take a risk for reward.

1. This is such defeatist attitude. You have already absolutely written him off as a delistee next year already.

how can you apply that narcissistic attitude to ah chee but pick 44 could be Rory Sloane?

2. If he is delisted next year our sole loss is pick 44 in a draft when we have pick 48 that would become pick 47 after gcs pass on pick 44 if they don't trade it away.

Toumpas was only signed for two years right? christ I hope so you reckon trying to off-load Lobbe is hard

So you want change ?

Does that mean we ignore making smart decisions? Using our position to advantage ?

As I said, GC need players , GC want to keep Callum who could be a threat to leave next season , possibly to port if Brendan is here , and have more draft picks than they can possibly use.

There is no reason we should move ah chee for pick 44.

You keep talking as if Gold Coasts picks are worth as much to them as they are us, which is not the case. We are starved for picks in this draft.

Regardless, happy to disagree. Moving on.

All the talk of trading achee is kind of ridiculous as we will be getting peanuts for him.. I really thought he was going to be a gun this year. He showed glimpses in preseason with that one handed screamer but since that game he's been a shell of himself. Perhaps his heart is to play with his brother. I would persist with him. If he can turn it around he'll be starting 22 easy

I think I actually forced his hand. Back around 2011 I found him, shopping basket in hand, looking with slight distress at the wide range of feminine hygiene products in a local supermarket. He was making a phone call to get advice on what to buy, clearly having been sent out without adequate instruction. Our eyes met and with no words he obviously knew that now another man had seen him like this Adelaide was too small for him to stay.

I hope that you suggested he head on over to Aisle 5....

I'm in the same boat mate, if we get a decent pick have a crack, otherwise give him another go next year. He needs to aim a lot higher than he is, he has some good potential.
I'm more concerned if we have Stewart, OShea on our list, and I'd rather be pushing hard to get any sort of deal for Lobbe and Jonas.

Sorry to intrude... would you guys have any interest in Matt Shaw or Keegan Brooksby? we are trying to create list space up here.. you could probably get them both for Ah Chee... both are useful in their own ways but we have so many high draft picks they are probably surplus to our needs..
If we took a couple off your list (to help you) would you give us a higher second round pick for AhChee?

I think GCS will want to get AhChee. They need to offer something a little decent though. This isn't a fire sale. They would be desperate to stop the constant exodus of players. If they rate Callum AhChee then having Brendan there too would be a good thing as GC is a long way from Perth.
Or...if we end up keeping Brendan at Port and if he comes good then we might be able to lure his younger brother here one day. The brother factor is obviously one reason GCS are considering Brendan, plus he has potential..
