I've been tossing up as to whether to bother renewing my kids memberships. Being away from Adelaide they really don't care like I do. My mind it seems has just been made for me.

I generally hate the teat up membership comments. But this takes the cake.

That proposed trade looks like absolute rubbish to me. o_O

If there is any truth in it at all KT needs to be all over Kern and Davies, as there is unfortunately a real risk they are desperate enough to survive in their own roles that they could set the club back even further.

If this goes through then KT is tainted too.

This is 'smuggle drugs into bali' levels of stupid

Hypothetically speaking, what would it take for us - or any club - to secure Xavier Richards? I would much rather we put an offer to him than Aaron Black, if that is still a thing, assuming he isn't Victoria-bound.
Daily Telegraph said:
SYDNEY Swans grand final player Xavier Richards has requested a trade to a Melbourne club and his manager says the cost of living in Sydney is the key factor in his desire to move.

...

If you’ve got money to spend you’d get better value in Queensland or South Australia than you do in Sydney. Living in Sydney makes it tough on a lot of players.”

“He will be able to go home to Melbourne and live with his parents initially and put some money away, that’s been impossible in Sydney,” (Richards’ manager Phil Mullen) said.

'Carn, Xavier. You can live with mummy and daddy in Melbourne, or you can be your own man at Port Adelaide'.

It could well work out to be a good trade, but we are basically betting on ourselves v- which in itself is what worries me - we have been brought into the trade and on paper come out of it worse than anyone - on the law of averages.

If it went through, we would have 9,19,30,49,85,103. Potentially we would use 85/103 for rookie upgrade, leaving 9,19,30,49 as picks in this years draft. In isolation it makes this year look ok, but next year only looks Ok if we push up toward top 4 or 5.

I have another concern, in Pittard coming out of contract, possibly not being a restricted FA, and talk around of FA compensation being scrapped .... if our luck continues (bottoming out when GC/GWS come in) we could lose Jasper for nothing.

Gold Coast had better given us some sort of gentlemans agreement to give us a high pick for ah chee.

Who am I kidding, this is outright terrifying.

We need to be keeping our 2017 first round pick, **** the other details

What I don't get it is if we're putting up a much valued future first round pick surely we could get a better return than an end of first round pick & pick 30 which will be pushed back after academy selections?

How are we not at the very least getting a pick as high as the Hawks got? Seeing as we'll likely finish behind them anyway...

You know this will happen.....

Everyone else will get good compo picks but as soon as we lose an Ollie or Jasper type they will scrap it and we will get nothing
It will be like pick 1 priority picks all over again when they scrapped that after the Vic clubs cleaned up and then when we were beyond awful they scrapped it

i dont care if its pick 19 and 22 i still wouldnt do it for next years 1st.
I would only THINK about it if it was for a high first this year. our first next year for say GCs 8?

Our first next year and 56 for 8 and 30. then yes sure
