Where did you get your clearance stats from?? Lobbe was the ruckmen from rds 1 to 5 and 21 to 23 and Jacko was suspended for Rd 6 and Howard rucked so Jack was the main ruckman between rds 7 to rd 20 ie 13 games as the bye was in that batch of games. He got 93 clearances for the year 8 when he wasnt the main man and 85 in 13 games is an average of 6.5 and closer to what the best ruckmen get rather than be a ruck clearance machine. he got 8 or more clearances in rd 7-13, rd 12 -8, rd 18 -9 and rd 19-15. See his stats at

Yeah I messed up it was I did the stats in the Trengove thread compared to other rucks.

His numbers are still impressive

Did any one else hear the nick stevens story kane just told on trade radio?

Yep, just made the entire two weeks of trade radio worthwhile ... :thumbsu: ... Well done Kane

What's this talk of Pre-Season Draft? It's most superfluous thing in the AFL in the age of Free Agency

Last year's PSD was cancelled as all eligible clubs, including Port Adelaide, advised the AFL they wouldn't be participating

The two before that, they lasted less than 30 seconds with just one pick

so if Jaegar goes to the draft, essendon could white ant Hawthorn with our pick 9 and we could get 20+29 and break even and have 5 picks in the top 30 guys.
If he even suspected something like this happening, he would just go PSD to Essendon, move to Melbourne and maybe ask for a trade in a years time. He's not compelled to nominate for the National Draft.

you may be interpreting that wrong. believe it's in the wording of 'delisted' delisted can also mean without contract from what i believe.

the afl rule book is what i quoted and clearly states players on lists last year can nominate for the PSD.
What rule book? The draft isn't mentioned in the Laws of the game book.

Edit: fair enough from your previous post, but where exactly is it from?

We have got just as much chance of finish top 2 as finishing bottom. Jeeze everyone in here loves to complain about anything and everything.

Quite pathetic really. Of course we posters know all what is happening on the inside and have full understanding of the machinations of the AFL trade system. My question to all the melters would be, "what would you have done if in the shoes of Cripps, Davies and Co"?

You need to read further, its on page 10.

Players Eligible to be Drafted A player who has nominated in accordance with these rules and is eligible under AFL Rules may be selected at the Pre-Season Draft Selection Meeting provided that:

(a) the player has attained the age of 18 years or will attain the age of 18 years on or before December 31;

and (b) the player:
(i) has been deleted from a Club Primary List;
or (ii) is listed but uncontracted and has nominated for the Pre-Season Draft Selection Meeting;
or (iii) was eligible and available to be selected at the immediately preceding Draft Selection Meeting and had not been selected. Any player who satisfies the above criteria will be eligible to be drafted.

There must be more about the Mitchell move to WA than has been said. Mitchell was described as putting club first but if he was then surely he could do better for his club by being the experienced player that the Suns want. He probably has 2 years left and as they have said they are not interested in more than one draft pick. Although a lot could happen by the end of the day Hawthorn are starting to look as though they may come out of this trade period with picks 10, 48, 66, 70, 88, 90 and 108 and Tom Mitchell and Ty Vickery while losing Sam Mitchell, Brad Hill and Jordan Lewis. Not the cleanup we expected on the first day of trade and free agency period.

I think JOM is a massive risk.

Wasn't he 2 years out with knee?
From the team that brought you

- Ryder won't be suspended
- Our first round pick in 2017 will be really late anyway because we're awesome

PAFC now presents

- Burgess will fix Jaeger's rehabilitation right up, no worries

search afl rules 2015 pre season draft and it's there on down the page 1 or 2.

the main afl rule handbook for all things list and operations.

JOM can nominate for either draft. He wouldn't choose the PSD as Essendon will grab him. So it's ND where he would nominate his contract terms and hope to do a Luke Ball.

But he's in his prime whereas Ball was much closer to 30 by memory. As it stands, GC could even use one of their top 10 picks to make a point- unlikely but possible. Carlton could use 5 if they keep it- they will have a choice between say Brodie and O'Meara. Freo could bite at 7. We could bite at 9- our choice may be O'Meara or Berry. Hmmm.

If I were Ken, I'd take him for one year to save my job then flog him off for a first and second round pick next year- an investment! At the end of it, he may love it here and stay or we cash in our investment.

Remember, we only need his knee to work until a few days after he heads back Hawthorn.

What is the issue with that? He is a top 3 player at their club, he certainly should be on 800k a year. He is a star, are you suggesting he isn't worth that?

lol you throw the word star around pretty ****ing loosely. Yes I am suggesting he is on too much and if he's a star then that indicates why Richmond are the club they are. But hey you're free to disagree.
