He'll have strong competition in Harris and Matho but it's great to add another young man with exceptional character and leadership potential. Just what we need and so happy he's a Lion.

Has anyone seen much of Jake Barrett? Seems to be a big ball-winner in the NEAFL, but ended up in the rookie draft despite expectations that clubs would be interested during the trade period. Could he be another Anthony Miles, or is he more of a ZOB upgrade?

He would've played with him at Champs last year and considering how vocal Matho is he'd be well know amongst everyone who played with him.

Gonna say we need another nickname though, when I hear Strawbs I instantly think of Merrett. Not like there's a shortage of berry related nicknames.

Have valued Qld kids( especially Aspley) for many years now. Started with Daniel Pratt then Ben Warren,Corey Wagner and now Declan Watson plus Gavin Urquart (Morningside). Pratts Dad was a scout for them I suspect.

Meh shows a bit of energy and fun around the place albeit it looked poorly executed and fell a bit flat.

Definitely wouldn't call it "jeering" though, and certainly wouldn't say it was "pathetic".

I don't think it symbolises anything over all, or means they are going to be mistreated - it just felt off. The jeering sounds at the end were a bit 'taking the piss'.. not a 'funny friendly welcome'. It just didn't feel right. Watched it again 3 or 4 times waiting to feel different about it and I didn't.

What would I do? anything but jump out of the dark and spray them with water pistols and jeer them, basically. A big cheer and clap as they enter the room would have been nice.
