Throw away lines in the article about the GWS academy:

They will also activate the No.2 pick, but appear unlikely to take goalkicking midfielder Hugh McCluggage.

Essendon met Setterfield last week but is instead closing in on explosive star Andy McGrath as its first ever No.1 pick.

If we get McCluggage i will be stocked! I know Ainsworth is good but McCluggage is a class above i believe. Can't imagine Essendon and Gws saying no to him though

Yep - keen as. McGrath is obviously an impossibility, but would be stoked with McCluggage.

That would be pretty exciting. I just had to have another look at some highlights again- I think he looks more impressive every time. He just looks to be a step ahead of everyone else in traffic, could also have a pretty nice fend-off as he gets stronger.

if GC overlook him in the top he could fall big time, north melbourne have too many like him, as do adelaide.

port adelaide might be more interested in a local player slash he is unlikely to break into their midfield

Made comment on this a couple of days ago. I understand you draft best talent especially early but let's look at GC's picks to us. GC will be getting a glut of mids this draft and even though they lost O'Meara and Prestia they already have a couple of players on their list as inside mids and will also acquire Scheer who I really rate as well. North could have a look but again my feel is they need outside/speedier players, WC I don't have a feel for but they're more likely to go for a WA boy possibly and have been linked to others, Adelaide already have the Crouch brothers as young inside mids and like North need more outside run, Port again have a number of inside mids already on their list which leaves us. In all reality it is highly unlikely but there is a small, very small chance he could slip to us and if so we better bloody call his name out.

They have been bringing in outside midfielders through trades for a couple of years now and only really have Fyfe and Neale as inside mids having just lost Barlow as depth. Fyfe has indicated that he may want to head of Victoria after his contract as well. English at 7 is a stretch for mine and SPS might be gone to Blues or Suns. Logue is also a reach so naturally Fremantle might take the slider in Brodie.

Fyfe has indicated that he may want to head of Victoria after his contract as well. English at 7 is a stretch for mine and SPS might be gone to Blues or Suns. Logue is also a reach so naturally Fremantle might take the slider in Brodie.

The big knock on Brodie is his work rate and susceptibility on a big, fast track - which may push Freo away from him.

forgot about Freo but surely they are unlikely, our only issue is if GC get him otherwise he should really slide.

GC have a penchant for getting cute with their first round picks and not really taking the obvious choice and being burnt later, hopefully it will happen again (i.e. ah chee, garlett etc)

Basically a more amateur version of the BigFooty mock draft. 18 different posters, all from our board, get allocated a team and draft for them. Try and figure out your team needs and then pick a player. Obviously, most posters will be basing on other things they read on BigFooty anyway, so it isn't exactly reliable, but it's a fun way to pass the time.
