lets hope in 48 hours we are all saying what a great draft that was, and we aren't melting and venting.

sure as night follows day every recruiter when interviewed after the draft will be saying "we are very happy with how draft night panned out for us".

There arent too many players in our range I dont like in this draft. I think I'll be safe from a meltdown. Time will tell

I've been FOR Ainsworth simply due to his attitude but I'm guessing McCluggage isn't the big flight risk some make him out to be seeing as he's from Ballarat.
He's from Warrnambool

I honestly can't believe people will be disappointed if we are end up with McCluggage. Talk about spoilt.

just because someone is from country victoria doesnt automatically mean they are no longer a flight risk

True, but just because they haven't said "please pick me Brisbane" doesn't mean they are a flight risk.

I will only be dissapointed for a short period of time. Until it sinks in that we have arguably picked up the best player in the draft year.

im definitely not in the party that think he is leaving, similarly im not so sure about Ainsworths whole i wanna get to brisbane crap either

hes probs a competitive bugger who wants go as high as possible, reporters asked him would you consider going to brisbane, and boom now suddenly hes been talking about he wants to be there etc etc. pretty rare in a draft a player openly says in the media this is the club i want to go to get me there

I am right to say that if we happen to get McCluggage at 3, that we basically got pick 16 for picks 31, 51 & 60?
Because the way I see it, if Ess pick McGrath, then we would be picking McCluggage whether we had pick 2 or pick 3.
Thanks GWS.
Now to nail pick 16 (Simpkin/Berry)

Still wished we had somehow got Suns pick 10 in some way from the Hanley deal... Brodie a big chance to be at that pick. McCluggage + Brodie would be ******* unreal.

It's simply the fact that it's closer. If this time next year it looks like we're adding a Worpel and Ballenden style combo you'll have forgotten all about this draft.

I don't see how it's any different to all the Schache love last year.

I dunno. I can't think of a team that had been crying out for a top tier key forward prospect longer than the Lions. I'd say a few of us had already fell in love by the Champs and then there was the whole romantic notion his father's history and inheriting his jumper etc. Makes Josh a pretty special case. The mountains of talent aside there's a lot of reasons he had last year, and still has, bundles of love from Lions supporters and I think it was a pretty unique storm.

Whoever we pick it's because the club has put literally hundreds of hours into vision, watching live games and interviews (in which none of us were present)

Not that we don't do that every year but whatever choice we make on draft night - I trust the club is making the right one for us.

Yeah, why bother having an opinion?

Ask me if I'd be disappointed if we ended up with Weitering.

mmm...2 months ago most were emotionally invested in Mcluggage and were a bit disappointed we traded down. But time went on and Ainsworth love grew.

Last year we all wanted Schache for most the year

think our love was for mcgrath and we thought we would get him with mcluggage being consensus number 1
