Did anyone pay attention to the North Melbourne draft table when we didn't match the bid on Watson?
There were a lot of "not happy", "ah crap" looks going around the table.
What's the projection for North next season, are they top 8 contenders, or more likely to hold a high draft pick?
I have a feeling they were trying to play silly buggers and get our 2017 2nd round pick down graded with having to carry a points deficit.
Doubt we'd be playing funner buggers that early in the draft - you would never bid on a player if you didn't want him at your club. I'd expect the serious looks were because we went straight into discussions for our next selection, given we had back to back picks.
Anyway great draft, you guys smashed it. Getting Witherden and Cox where you did highlights why we were so disappointed not to get end of first round compo for Wells, as it would have been huge in this draft. I had Witherden in my top five preferences for our first rounder.

Congrats on McCluggage & Berry after going from pick 2 to 3.

Just watched Twomey's draft wrap. When talking about the drafts biggest winners he went GC because of their 4 top 10 picks. But singled Brisbane out as the other big winner.
Personally, I'm pretty confident we will see Berry at the Lions.
Cox looks like an impressive character.
Where is this?Good news everyone!
To shreds, you say...?

CLUBS have been divided all year on who should be the No.1 pick at this year's draft, with as many as nine prospects seen as possible contenders midway through the season.
Essendon called out the name of Andrew McGrath on Friday night, and he is a deserving choice in that spot. But who would other clubs have taken if they held that choice?
In the lead-up to the NAB AFL Draft, AFL.com.au surveyed leading recruiters from the majority of clubs to ask that question, and why. The results were split, highlighting the difficult call faced by the Bombers.
