What's the projection for North next season, are they top 8 contenders, or more likely to hold a high draft pick?

I have a feeling they were trying to play silly buggers and get our 2017 2nd round pick down graded with having to carry a points deficit.

Doubt we'd be playing funner buggers that early in the draft - you would never bid on a player if you didn't want him at your club. I'd expect the serious looks were because we went straight into discussions for our next selection, given we had back to back picks.

Anyway great draft, you guys smashed it. Getting Witherden and Cox where you did highlights why we were so disappointed not to get end of first round compo for Wells, as it would have been huge in this draft. I had Witherden in my top five preferences for our first rounder.

It was more the disappointed look with one guy even looking away cringing. Im sure it is nothing, but was an interesting observation

Id agree, the GCS just barely shade you guys, just based on them not having to match on Bowes before their other three picks, and getting the two academy players they wanted. Certainly think both QLD clubs killed it tonight. Id have Port just behind the GCS and you guy's. Port just seemed to sit back, wait patiently for the end of the first and second rounds and just swept up some quality players.
 
Currently on the other side of the world so just caught up on a big night.

What an incredible pool! Have a really good feeling about Berry and to hear that he's also great mates with the Clug is just music to my ears.

Some outstanding players heading to our club next week. It's old and cliché and it gets said every year, but I do feel this is a real batch of quality kids that will star for our club and one day be looked upon as a lethal combination.

Schwabby, Conole, Noble and co. have earnt a beer tonight. Well done lions [emoji106]

Well, atleast I got something right anyway. But in all seriousness, very good draft for us. We essentially traded Taranto for McCluggage and Berry if you want to look at it that way.

That little evasive shimmy (2:38) was effortless and stood up his opponent. Really looking forward to seeing Cox play in Lions colours.

Another great draft for us. When the popular phantom drafts came out, it just showed how awkward our selections could have been, but a few things fell our way, and we walk away pretty happy.

It's great to get another strong haul on the back of last year effort, and we're already holding a strong hand for next years too. Things are finally looking up.
 
woke up had a look at the draft tracker and realized it wasn't a dream.

McCluggage, Berry and Witherden were the 3 that most of us wanted and there was not anyone else still on the board when those selections came up that i would have preferred.

Cox is a great get from the vision and analysis that i have seen, the only others going into the night i was looking at in that slot who were still available were Bolton, Parfitt (smokie), Fisher and Drew. very happy with Cedric though.

Allison has huge potential and was a no brainer selection at that pick.

Corey Lyons, know zero about him, will now go and have a look at some footage.

can't wait to get down to yeronga next week to see the new boys in the flesh.
 
We were worried Berry and Witherden might both be gone at 16 and we ended up getting both!

Perfect night. Now it's over to the club to retain these kids. such exciting times ahead.

And after doing the above, I'm all aboard the Cox bandwagon. Anyone who moves literally across the nation (47 hours and 4,212 km on the "fastest route") and does 2 am shifts at the bakery before football is ok by me.
 
Well done guys mcluggage is a steal and fact you swapped pick 2 for mcluggage and withering is amazing. Test will be as long as mcluggage doesn't go home in 3 - 4 years as then questions may come up about passing a guy who wanted to come. But honestly mcluggage is too good to pass by and I was spewing you guys took him first!!
