It's a strong, deep draft, so naturally we've traded out of it and will use the minimum number of picks.

So you would have passed on Prestia AND Caddy for pick 6 and gone with an untried junior??? I wouldn't, and I'm not attacking you, just interested in your thoughtsIt's a strong, deep draft, so naturally we've traded out of it and will use the minimum number of picks.
I haven't seen him play this year, so can't comment on him. I know KM has a huge 'bias/love' over him seeing as he saw him at the Pies, I doubt he's seen any of his stuff in the WAFL this year, so it'd be daft to comment on how he has gone.
Meh.Brodie tipped to be a slider too

Knightmeh.Article by KM on drafting in general and how it applies to this year.

Nothing amazing but a reasonable amount of good thinking and analysis.
Certainly reinforces my feeling about not taking a KP this year and getting one next year when there are supposed to be about 10, compared to 2 decent guys this year
Third.if its quality passing by foot on both sides and elite speed over the first 20-30m that we are after we should be taking Piper with our 2nd or 3rd pick.
I understand why it was done, that with our best players in the second half of their careers we need quality senior support, but we paid a high price. Getting a first-rounder for Lids saved our trade period. Now let's hope Danger does an ACL.So you would have passed on Prestia AND Caddy for pick 6 and gone with an untried junior??? I do. **** them.Meh.
Knightmeh.
Na, actually not a bad article, even if he does mistakenly claim Swan as an inside mid.
The bit on body work for key defenders backs why I think we should take a good hard look at Brennan Cox.

I don't really hope that, but how good would it be if Geelong finished last!

I understand why it was done and think it will end up being a good trade. But still 100% think we missed the boat not trading down 6 for 2 picks between 10-25 and give the higher one to GC. Sydney's 14 & 17 the obvious choice.
Agree, but no way GWS were going to give away their top pick from this year (outside of 2), as they need points for their plethora of academy playersWe tried.
Cochrane vetoed the idea.
You would only do it on the proviso that that GC would accept the trade.
GC were campaigners, and from their perspective fair enough.
I wish we took 15 this year though from GWS when 13 didn't come (and was agreed to), rather than future 10-19.
Still very happy.

Ball magnetHeard we are into some kid Clarke, midfielder tipped to be a 2nd rounder?
Anyone in the know?

Yep, I did realise that Bobby but they never got it to give. If they had 13 & 15, we would have received one of them, no doubt13 was agreed on record.

Agree but they can afford to be!!!!Misunderstood! Still a good result, GWS are clearly very fair (more than) to deal with.
That's what next year's two first-rounders are for. There won't be one worth taking with this year's picks. We can get good mids and hopefully a good key defender, do you want us to get a key forward who's not up to it just to say we did?We need a KP forward.
I don't know who. But that's what we need.
