I would like to end up with pick 13(Adelaide) and pick 16(GWS) as they're are some great types possibly available there. The likes of berry, Bolton, florent, gallucci possibly drew.

Bolton looks like a terrific player. Great poise, decision making, agility and speed with ball in hand in traffic. Bit more of an outside player who is hard to lay a hand on. Only issue l have with taking this type is that we actually need some midfielders who can win the ball. This makes me think seriously about Drew.

Drew appears to have excellent endurance and moves well for an inside midfielder. Would be interested to know how highly he's rated by recruiters because he is a type that may suit us, especially with Gibbs leaving. Looks to have very good hands to distribute the ball.

Late first rounders, early second rounders could be great value in this draft so would love to have 3 or 4 picks in this range.

Also in addition to the above Venables looks a very good chance to be available in this range. Sos does like strong powerful midfielders when building a team so he may become a likely option. As has been said many times he has a big upside but has had injury issues and hasn't quite produced as expected. I noticed he has a birthday late in the year which adds to the view of there being a lot of potential.

I would love to see us going after Oliver Florent a player who has been slated as a classy outside user of the footy but in the games that I have seen him play when its his turn to put his head over it he doesn't shirk the issue

His Combine tests have been spectacular, Elite speed/endurance and a player who seems like he really pushes to get the best out of himself

Pick 13 for Oil Florent would be a exactly what we need could see Cripps and Brodie getting out to him on the burst from a stoppage

I hope we go after players in the draft that ooze leadership and are capable of extracting the best out of themselves, similar to Patricks Cripps
in how he hired his own running coach to assist him in improving

Does anyone know or heard of Will Brodie exhibiting such traits, cause I think he will be available at pick 5 now?

Re leadership l think this is where a player like berry comes into the mix. Mature young man who also has physical endurance to set standards.

Have heard in circles he is a sensational young man, really got himself in good nick in order to make it to the Combine, after suffering multiple injury setbacks, and his results speak for themselves. I'd be wrapt if he came to Carlton Ray8182

If we have picks in this range, I would like us to draft Clarke.

I'm with you on Florent, keen on him.

IMO, i think the impramatur Bolton will give SOS to work with will include "no poor kickers"

I would be surprised if we used a pick on Clarke personally.

Generally a little less important as he is an inside beast, more concerned with his hands. Having said that Clarke finished top 10 in the kicking results.

Thing I like about this kid, apart from the contested possessions he amasses, he is very intelligent with and without the ball and very composed

Where do people rate Atley at? He'd be a fantastic get in the 20-30 range IMO.

Yeah, somewhere round there. I think probably go lower on the night but a particular club may like his type, and like him, and pick him around that range.

There really is a stack of players who could go around 30 odd but some of them could fall to rookie draft. It all depends on a round peg round hole situation when each particular Club reads out a name from 25 to the end of the draft.

Poholke is one i like for us, but do you use a Pick 25'sh on him or hope he gets to your next at 42 or could he even drop to 50ish, if you've got one.

I see Atley as similar range.

As long as stop drafting arrogant kids who rely on talent alone to get them through, id much rather support a footballers that have a fairdinkum crack rather than a team with an abundance of skill yet come off the ground with barely a stain.

So Freo no longer have a first round pick before us.

1. Essendon
2. Brisbane
3. GWS
4. Gold Coast
5. Carlton

Freo aren't there to take a WA boy in SPS. Feel McCluggage, Brodie, McGrath will go top 3.

It may just be that we end up with someone who is rated fairly evenly with the next 10 or so.

I hope you are right, with that top 3

I would be doing cartwheels if Taranto slide to 5, also happy if we got SPS

Taranto had a good ending to the TAC Cup and all, but was considered to be closer to #20 only a few months ago. Good player but not sure on what basis people are salivating like he is a must have.

Cal Twomey said today that he was talking to one of the big recruiters the other day about Taranto, and he said to the recruiter wtte "it looks like Taranto has rocketed up into the Top handful". The recruiter replied wtte"what ya talkin' bout, he's been there for a long time".

He had a great Championships. He just had a lower public profile at the time.

was hoping that Brodie slipped to us at 5 , but if he gone and Taranto was still there would happily snap him up , i really like Hamish Brayshaw too ,hope we can snag him some how

Taranto has some of the cleanest one touch hands I have seen on a kid for a while.

Can play forward, where he takes strong marks and hit the scoreboard on a regular basis. When he moves into the midfield, he can play on the outside, as well as winning his fair share of the ball on the inside.

There are 3 midfielders that are at this stage clearly ahead of others on my list. McCluggage, Taranto and SPS

After that the likes of Brodie & Bowes, but my view is that they don't have the class of the 3 mentioned.

Brodie does extract the ball really well. A better bang for your buck is Clarke for a late 1st rounder
