SPP has quality disposal for an inside mid i feel. Makes me wonder why he's not rated higher.SPS at 5

Just judge the kicking from how you see it, the stats can be so deceiving.
Then it's a no for me, David. Will Brodie has some of these I feel

I worry about picking SPP (though he may not be there at 25). Reminds me a lot of Grigg.SPP has quality disposal for an inside mid i feel. Makes me wonder why he's not rated higher.
To be honest. I think he could be in the top 12 players in the draft.
Got 30/30 on the goal kicking test as well.
Will be a gun. Hoping against hope he is there at 25
Was played often as HBF & HFF during the year & U18 champs to make him a more rounded player. Means you don't need to always bench him when he's not on the ball. There's a lot of really good prospects in the top 30 tbh. Both SPP & SPS were pretty good in the All Stars game as was Taranto & Oliver Florent (there's another one).SPP has quality disposal for an inside mid i feel. Safe to say you're anti-Brodie at #5 huh Arrow?
I don't know whether it'll be a guide as to who we eventually choose at 5, but i do recall an interview with Trigg when he was discussing possible interest on Jaeger a few weeks before tradeweek. He stated we were very very likely to keep #5 and that we were after a high quality hybrid mid/forward who had inside/outside skills.
Now to me, that describes Setterfield, Petrevski-Seton, Taranto, Ainsworth probably more than Brodie.
Like most people i'm torn on who i'd pick, but maybe we should take note of what our CEO actually has said. It's probably our only hint so far.
I really like Brodie, but Crippa is such a pig around the contest that another pig may be surplus. A more rounded type might be what's required as a partner for Crippa.
I really think our whole midfield rebuild will be built around a once in each generation 1st ball winner like Cripps. Cunningham looked like he spent the whole year last year learning spreading patterns at speed.
Adding a really rounded type like Setterfield, SPS or Taranto might be the next stage.
No mate, not anti Brodie at all. Think he will have a solid career, 150-200 games.http://websites.sportstg.com/nfnn/t...D=198475525&client=1-118-58937-392809-8069908Does anyone have any stats on Jarrod Berry? I like the look of him and it seems his draft range has slid due to injury and lack of games
SPP doesn't look like he is afraid of his own shadow though.I worry about picking SPP (though he may not be there at 25). Reminds me a lot of Grigg.
Very true, which means he'll be much more capable inside, but I was more referring to him being a booming long kick for goal, but much more inconsistent with shorter disposals.SPP doesn't look like he is afraid of his own shadow though.
Brodie's disposal efficiency should be much higher than that when you are comparing it to Taranto, given how high his handball to kick ratio is
SPP was highly rated early in the season but then didn't get enough of it and supposedly used it poorly. Seems to have addressed those issues later in the season. Does't look like he kicks it straight up in the air if pressure is close by.Very true, which means he'll be much more capable inside, but I was more referring to him being a booming long kick for goal, but much more inconsistent with shorter disposals.
Grigg has always had that about him as well.
Berry is a half back flanker isn't he?Does anyone have any stats on Jarrod Berry? I like the look of him and it seems his draft range has slid due to injury and lack of games

I think we'll go for Taranto....not for the logical reasons you've pointed out but for the headline.Safe to say you're anti-Brodie at #5 huh Arrow?

Kicking efficiency at the champs was pretty much the same and Brodie had more of a contested game.
I rate these two high but i wonder if now having Pickett slides SPS down the wish list? SPP would be a good get if available.SPS at 5
SPP at 25
Brodie under more pressure? That is a bit of a fallacy, given that Taranto would have come in for constant close checking as a forward.
I make allowances for guys like Brodie, banging the ball on his boot from a clearance, as I do for forwards snapping at goal under pressure.
Where I don't make allowances is for guys like Brodie, when they have clear air and struggle to hit consistent targets. Taranto rated in the top 5 for clearances behind Clarke and Brodie, not bad for a guy that spends only 50% of his time through the middle.
I am not saying Brodie is not a good footballer, I am saying he does not warrant pick 5 selection given he is only an inside mid, with minimal hurt factor by foot and rarely hits the scoreboard.
Compare that to the likes of a Taranto that has added more strings to his bow and can kick multiple goals in a game
Given what SOS has traded for in the last 2 years, as well as what we picked up in the 2015 draft, I would be surprised if we drafted Brodie at 5
Absolute rubbish! I actually don't think we have one player on our list from between the 2008 - 2012 drafts. Why? Because we always take pretty, athletic outsiders who are not natural footballers. Our draft record is a joke. I am proposing changing our approach, you are proposing more weak outsiders who go missing week after week.Do people realise what will be available at those later picks? How many sub Nick Grahams do you think the club can use? It's the time to grab the best of the speculative types before someone else does, they'll take time but it's better than drafting players with a lower 'ceiling' that won't make it anyway. The first two or three picks are the only ones worth taking a sober approach to.
From what I've seen Taranto's two way running is non existent. I keep hearing how he is a contested beast but I'm yet to see that. At this point he looks like a flashy half forward who might be able to pinch hit in the middle. Pass at pick 5 for meIf kicking skills are a must Taranto would be pretty low on my list, out of all the players who may be available at 5 he is worst field kick by far.
SPS Scrimshaw and Anisworth all have those really high level foot skills that you would expect from a high draft pick.
Brodie is pretty impressive overhead mark, he's set shot does need some work but he can definitely go forward and have an impact.
In TAC cup GF if he kicked straight could have had 3 or 4 goals easily.
Cripps is only a inside mid and he would be worth a top 5 pick.
