The more I think, the more I feel Brodie will happen. But I am by no means expecting it.

If it happens, it will genuinely make up for all the wrong that our club has done this offseason. IMO he'll be that helpful to us.
He has a long long way to fall, and lots of interested clubs ......tough to see it happening

Was just having a look at Jordan Galluci as he's been linked to us a bit, and gee he's an interesting one. Is one who has a lot going for him, but seems to be a bit of a high risk, high reward type, but sounds like he has a great attitude with good leadership skills, having co captained Vic Metro. Supreme athlete, broke the 2 footed jump record at combine, whilst also winning the repeat sprints and doing well in a number of other areas.

Seems to be one who's spent a lot of time forward, but is plenty tough and classy/powerful around the clearances, but perhaps lacking a little size (183cm). Also a strong tackler. Kicking seems to be the main concern, very Matthew Jaensch like in that it's a very compact kicking action and not exactly textbook or fluent, but appears like it can be very effective, albeit inconsistent thus far. Reminds me a bit of the knocks on Brodie Smiths kicking, he was unorthodox so people didn't like his kicking, turns out his kick can be devestatingly effective even though it's not textbook. The thing I liked is that he already seems comfortable using his left and sounds like he's already done some work on his kicking.

Whilst I think I've said this a lot, certainly has a lot of strings to his bow and is one I could see Ogilvy and team taking a liking to given the combo of athleticism, leadership, toughness, coupled with some genuine skill, albeit inconsistent at this stage.

Would be interested to hear our resident draft watchers thoughts on him, it seems the wider BigFooty draft watchers have been scared off by his kicking and struggle to rate him before 25ish, where as the media experts see him going mid to late first round.
IMO Galluci's in the frame, as he's typically the type of player we draft ......IMO plays similar to Richard Douglas

The kicking action is fine, so the AFL environment will tidy that aspect up, as it will with many players in full time training

Not my preferred but can see him thereabouts, and not out as far in the draft as some are predicting (late 1st - early 2nd) ......think Bulldogs

I feel like 13 is a bit early for him . I get the knock on his kicking and it's more his long kicking as I've seen him nail targets medium and short on run at full pace

At full distance he can spray them a bit over kicking them but I've also seen him have good kicking days . A bit like Sloane or smith I think his kicking issues will get ironed out pretty quick in the system

But overall I feel 13 is too early as he lacks a bit of size and will struggle to go inside at AFL level - at least for a good while and he will prob play across half back or as high half forward more most of his early career and possibly longer

I now think berry is most likely but we will take Brodie , Hayward and possibly Venables if they are still there in front of Berry

Most dangerous clubs (other than GC) are North and WC, obviously. Just depends if they see him as an absolute need?
Really do see North having more of a pace fixation ......Gold Coast with 4 picks are so unpredictable ......and West Coast i have simply no idea what they'll do

Are you saying all of Hayward, Brodie and Venables will be gone by our pick ? .....cause i am not seeing that happen at all ......if it does, welcome Jack Scrimshaw

I do too, but will they be able to pass up Brodie if there? I'm not sure, personally. GC could go anyway, but I still see the most likely combo as Hayward, Scrim, Taranto and Bowes. WC could go any way, reckon Gallucci, Berry and Brodie are the most likely for them

Paywalled :(
PICK 13 ADELAIDE

Who’s in the frame: Will Brodie, Jordan Galluci, Will Hayward

Could the Crows call Brodie? He shouldn’t get past here, and the midfield is their priority. A lethal forward line and stingy backline needs a deeper centre square to seriously contend. Local Hayward’s 13 goals in the final two games enhance his chances.

According to Landsberger below ......but i can't see Bolton that early, as he's a bit untidy ....the player starting to get talked up again is Simpkin & i can see Scrimshaw and Brodie to West Coast too

PICK 12 WEST COAST

Who’s in the frame: Jack Scrimshaw, Jarrod Berry, Shai Bolton

Best available for the Eagles. They like locals Petrevski-Seton, Logue and English, but all could be gone. Also big fans of third defender Josh Rotham, but he’s probably one for their next pick — No.34.

Feel Venables is Bris or Port bound, at this stage
But that's just media talk now ....no substance in that, Venables is just going under the radar due to injuries....IIRC he hasn't played much in the 2nd half of the season

The experts seem to have jumped off berry.
Why do you say that ?
He's been rated a mid to late teens pick for most of second half of year and sometimes even 20s by 'experts'

I think he's one we are happy to take if Brodie , Hayward and possibly Venables are gone ( although we may have Berry > Venables but I'm not sure )

up until last week i thought he was talked about as possibly top 10 probably early teens.

Only on here

He's been in 20s in some of twomeys phantoms during year when his form was down

Would have been rated top 10 in pre season before tac cup started

I hope you're right

I think one of those guys might be there and Berry is the back up we are happy to go to if none of them are

Kind of my thoughts, definitely the type we'd be interested in and personally don't have an issue with his kicking as for mine it's just a matter of tidying up, as opposed to any great fundamental issues.

Yeah cheers, certainly seems the case that it's a touch early, but then that hasn't stopped us before.

Why is everyone saying this ???

Because I don't think he's our first or second choice but we'd be happy to have him at our club if it came to that because others are gone
 Think you could say that about any player ranked #5 thru to #20 ??? .......last biscuit on the dish is what you're suggesting?

Most are of the opinion (as myself) that Berry is a Half Back Flanker only .......that's not even close to a need

Is there some sort of running joke with the spelling of Gallucci's surname?
Seems like everyone, even the Phantom Drafts on websites spell his name different.
Some have 1 L, some have 1 C, some have 1 of each, some spell it right.

You see, that's where our opinions differ... I see Berry as mainly an inside mid long-term

Say what you will, but I actually have Berry (and Venables, Perryman, Florent) ranked above Scrim

His best footy this year was toward end of season playing forward

He's going to be pretty versatile , that endurance and height will serve him well in an AFL midfield

I suggest we like him and he's a solid bet but not first choice . It sounds like we've spent a fair bit of time with him over last 12 months
