Jarman at 51 :p
And English at #29 ;)

Oh, if I were Freo's head recruiter, I'd be staying the hell away, but I'm not :p
If Lyon has a say .....no way English will be at Fremantle .....not a patient man Lyon

Galluci has more athletic traits a little more akin to Mackay IMO but a bit of both no doubt . Dougy the best skill set of that trio
Douglas has lost some athleticism now .....but comparing 18 year olds Galluci and Douglas ....same

Look closely and you can almost see some similar mannerisms ......kicking style for one

Still feel like they'll reckon a replacement ruck is a big need, WA factor will entice them even more
They'll poach a mature ruck from a state league IMO

I want to thank all those with info and links. For us who have no ideas you have given others a good head start on our potential new stars.

Fremantle's best 22 is not worthy of the great man that is Clarke

Agree to disagree I guess
Freo will not take English ......bookmark it!

SPS ....Logue .....or even Brodie IMO

We'll see :p
How many top 10 ruckmen have been gems in the last 15 years ......Natanui and ?????????

Watching English in the All-Stars game .....he was lighly tackled by a sub 180cm thin midfielder ....had no strength and immediately lost his feet .....zero strength, zero physicality, poor hands ......do i go on?

Didn't stop Bris from taking Longer (although Longer was a better prospect back then, but Bris didn't have a great ruck need either with Leuey still on board).
Longer was much stronger, a better ruckman & with more physicality ......he hasn't lived up to his draft rating

Nor has Luenberger who was rated in his draft as a generational player

I know you asked for gems but Kreuzer without injuries could have been anything.

I agree ....but we just haven't seen it have we? ......not the best ruckman, not the dominating around the ground player he promised to be ......and a #1 again

Is it just me or is interest in the draft this year well down on normal years?

I'd generally have a preferred pick, scouring phantom drafts and seeing who we are linked too, even though I don't actually watch the under 18s play. I haven't really done any of that. Is this just me being apathetic or is it reflective of a theme across the board?

Looking at the number of posts per user in this thread I'd suggest interest is limited to a very few number of people but I wouldn't say that's the case every off season. I can't put my finger on why.

Ballarat Clarendon College set to produce three top draftees

It is a great feat for a region to boast three top-end draft picks, let alone one year-level of a school.

That is the case for Ballarat Clarendon College as Hugh McCluggage, Jarrod Berry and Willem Drew all look certain to find their way onto an AFL list.

It is well-documented that McCluggage will have his name read out at the pointy end of November 25’s National Draft while it has been speculated that Berry is in the mix as a first-round selection and Drew not far behind.

McCluggage, Berry and Drew have embraced and benefited from the school’s program and focuses.

Whether in the boys boarding house or in the classroom, the support and guidance has been critical to their growth and success.

The trio have received expert leadership and direction from the College’s football coaches, Brad Macgowan and Shaune Moloney – a three-time premiership captain at the North Ballarat Roosters.

The cooperation between the College and the North Ballarat Rebels is exemplary – both are driven by the best interests of these young men.

Berry spoke highly of BCC and said the decision to come to the school had been influential in his journey towards the top-level.

AFL BOUND: Willem Drew, Jarrod Berry and Hugh McCluggage all look set to find their way to an AFL club at the National Draft on November 25.

“To move to Ballarat Clarendon College in 2014 was a big step that was going to shape my future,” Berry said.

“To this day, I still believe that coming to this school and being immersed in such a hardworking culture is one of the best calls my family, particularly my father, has made.

“The school has taught me the importance of hard work and a good education and how these two things will direct anyone’s future in a positive direction. Being surrounded by great people, both in the boarding house and the day school, has been an important factor in defining the character and the person that I am today.

“Off-field, the guidance the teachers have provided is something that I’ll be forever grateful for. Never before have I encountered such devoted, supportive and approachable people who genuinely care for their students. On-field, the values that these role models instilled, such as commitment and a strong work ethic, enable me – and all students – to have the best opportunity to succeed.”

Along with the three Ballarat Clarendon College boys, Cedric Cox and Tom Williamson are fellow North Ballarat Rebels expected to be drafted.

Callan Wellings, Jermaine Jones, Jarrod Korewha and Lloyd Meek attended the state draft combine and will be hopeful of being a late-draft selection or find their way onto an AFL rookie list.

The disappointment of our lacklustre trade week still lingers

Everyone has already switched to following our dominant and extremely successful test cricket team

If Galluci = Douglass I would be snaping him up immediatly only 50% of first rounders achieve 150 games I am more interested in staying away from the 50 % that fail
