Vic metro
They have a big hand in this draft
We seem reluctant to recruit from Vic Metro ......IIRC we have a preference for Vic Country due to "go Home" factor with metro kids .......could be wrong, but that's my impression of past 1st rounders ?

What's the knock on graham? State captain and larke medalist. Ready to go footballer looks like Ollie wines version 2.0 minus the annoying go home factor
Kicking mainly , skill level is average

Bit of a man child like Dunstan as mentioned so whether he can physically dominate like that in AFL

Superb work rate and ability to push to contests and win them. Will prob go between our 2 picks around 30-35 I'm guessing

Kickings fine and I've seen a lot of him up close, Brodie Smith like penetration and depth is how I'd describe it, I've seen him play running defender well, midfield well, and Half forward well, offers so much versatility and I'll guarantee you he will not take a backward step, I'd describe him as bigger bodied Brodie Smith at the same age with a far harder attack on the contest and the man. Leadership in spades, Captained all of the Ballarat Rebels in the TAC Comp, the AFL Academy side and Victorian Country side at the U18 Championships this year. Will play AFL from year 1, already well developed body wise.

Just checked out a bit of young SA defender Brennan Cox, yeah looks good both feet, good read of play and attacking from defence. Nice and mobile, can see why you rate him.

I personally wouldn't have thought a kpd was a need till prob 2018-19 draft? Yourself?
If he's there at 43 he'd be right in consideration and by the way he played CHF for his SANFL side and did very well also....Sticks played him CHB at the U18 Championships through necessity.

Graham seems like a man-child that has a basic game based on his superior physique ......limited upside and has had big issues with his weight already .....2nd round ATS

Maybe changing eg Lever and Talia
Was thinking recent drafts seem to have gone away from that thinking .......but that's been our tendency in the past

Personally glad we don't have a second round pick then;)

Impressive isn't he?

Haven't looked at anything, had the crazy thought we might trade our first pick...

But can say what I don't want to read.

- high character
- mentally tough
- future leader
- hard working
- trains like David Mackay
- does anything like David Mackay.

Need a mid with pick 13, will probably select a key forward.
There's really only 3 worth a look, Marshall who will likely be gone, Pat Kerr who I don't particularly rate and Josh Battle who I do rate but he's only 192cm from memory, though could project into the midfield maybe, very mobile, good kick and elite endurance.

Battle should end up like our Tom Lynch but in his junior career has been better closer to goal

Nice word on Berry:
Born: 5.2.1998
Height: 191cm
Weight: 80kg

AFL bio: Versatile defender-midfielder with excellent athletic ability and game sense. A prolific ball-winner who won Vic Country's Most Valuable Player award in 2014 and All-Australian honours last year before injury interrupted his 2016. Member of the NAB AFL Academy.

"Jarrod's an outstanding leader. He's a boy you'd want to go to war with. He does everything possible to become better in everything he does. He jumps on his bike to go to the gym by himself and after games, when everyone else is gone, he'll be the one in here doing his rehab. He's just determined to get the best out of himself and whoever picks him up will be very pleased with the person they're bringing in. He can play in various positions; I don't think you can pigeonhole him. He's showed he can play the half-back role, he's showed this year that he can play on-ball and he's a very dangerous player when he goes forward as well. He hasn't had a good run at it because of injury this year, but he has many strings to his bow."

Does this not sound like Rory Sloane? Haven't we said a million times if only we could clone Sloane?.... well here he is.

A lot of mocks have SPP going later... Personally I think early second round but there are concerns

Sounds like David Mackay. Just the sort of person we like. Good at training, top bloke, preparation awards, can play tons of positions.

:p
