Yeah I've been gradually looking through those videos, taking some of them with a grain of salt though as Ronke looks to hit a number of targets in his footage, more than you'd first expect. The hands on Lipinski though, wow
This might interest you, an insight to Ben Ronke.

Another point with Berry - as with Brodie, I think he's more ready to go than many others in the crop, but I still think he's got a heap of growing room. 191cm but only 80kg. Lot of muscle to still put on. Once he develops the power that comes with that muscle, watch out
Think you're going a bit overboard here on Berry ......you haven't even mentioned him till today .....you sure you're not being influenced by media ????

Imagine Lever & Berry as our 2 main leaders one day . Both capable of one day being the competition's best captain based on both of them being two of the best leaders the AIS academy has seen over last 5-10 years.
We could have both of them.
I think Doedee could one day join them in the leadership group too.
We definitely have a good group of youngsters and adding Berry plus some quality later picks could really set us up for a sustained run at it.
I really get worried when all you here when Berry is discussed is ......he's a fine upstanding person and natural born leader .........Van Berlo ??

The guys on afl site think there is a clear 15 in this draft which includes both b&b and Hayward.
That's just untrue

Bicks you do need to maintain some objectivity .......you do tend to reflect a bias towards North Ballarat players

Wrong... As I've said, I've actually been a fan of Berry's for a while, think he really got affected by his lack of a consistent run of games. The talent's there, though.

You'd have to like the tap work of big Rowan Marshall along with his kicking and overhead ability?
Don't mind him, not that agile at all though.

Re-watching some tales at the moment, looking at Olango... really think there's a lot to work with, there.

IMO Venables provides that ......not sure, based on rumors, all of a sudden everyone jumps off Venables in a matter of hours

This time of year all the rumors have people changing their loved up players ......stay true to your analysis, it hasn't magically changed in 24 hours
My preferred option is still Venables (unless Brodie's available)... but I'm not going to become too attached to a player that it seems like we're unlikely to get. After all, first and foremost I'll be trusting the recruiting team.

Says who though?

Why so much luv for Venables wayne?
No no ......just questioning the player switching going on ATM based on media speculation ......There's maybe 4-5 players i'd be happy with, which i have previously named

Venables IMO has great upside ......very balanced, great hands, good core strength & disposal ........will be a quick and aggressive midfielder ......isn't that a need?

The guys on the afl poddy seem to think he goes missing in games. Rate him between 18-25 from memory.

Due to low endurance levels. We're the club which can build endurance levels better than anyone. IMO someone like Venables would absolutely flourish in our system. Doesn't look like the recruiters think the same way, though :(

Says the jungle drums. Anderson and Twomey are alluding to Brodie sliding, and both are suggesting we're keen on Hayward and Berry, in particular. Could be a massive game of smoke and mirrors I guess, though.
more than likely .....Hayward interest doesn't surprise ....Berry would be amongst maybe 10 players we've courted for the #13 pick, so the breakfast visit isn't unusual, but it also tells us nothing

The fact that Twomey's simply said that we're interested in Berry (not due to the brekky meeting either, by the sounds of things) says to me he's one of the more likely possibilities. Hayward too, if he's there.

Been injured, playing predominantly forward, i can understand that comment .......but are we judging the player on his junior output, or talent base and projected senior output POD ?

For the record, another player dropped to #43 in his draft year due to massive inconsistent games ......
It all started when a 17-year-old South Australian named Adam Goodes was taken at pick 43 in the 1997 AFL draft. He was drafted from the North Ballarat Rebels, the club that would produce future GWS Giants full-forward Jeremy Cameron.

However, it wasn’t until 1999 when he made his AFL debut for the Swans, against Port Adelaide in the opening round of the season. He was then nominated for the Rising Star award in Round 2, and polled 33 votes to eventually win the award ahead of future Brisbane Lions premiership pair Simon Black and Luke Power.

After several seasons of steady progress, Goodes started to improve as a player in 2003, and so too did the Swans under Paul Roos, who succeeded Rodney Eade as coach following his resignation midway through the 2002 season.

We're interested in up to 8 players at #13 ......and no-one outside the club and in particular in Vic media, knows .......clubs are visiting players to smokescreen the player they're really interested in

IIRC didn't we hardly speak to Milera last year ?

Our interest in Milera was quite obvious one or two weeks out, IIRC?

The media, in particular the likes of Twomey, are able to suss these things out close to the draft. What I'll really be looking at is Twomey's final phantom, though.
