Can only be excited to see that now I'm living up here now. Darwin is a good city

I have no doubt when we win the post game celebrations will be somewhat interesting given what I have experienced so far.

Ch7 reporting that the Derbies are set for Round 3 and Round 17.
As we are away in Round 1, they did not confirm it but I gather we'd be away to WC in Round 3 like we were this year and have the home derby later in the year. If that's so, we'd be at Subi for 3 of the first 4 games potentially like this year.

I'm with you. Fewer games in Melbourne (particularly the MCG) makes sad panda sad.

I'll readily admit that my opinion is based on self-interest, but please don't confuse that with being spoilt.

A Victorian membership is $150, which would equate to 6 x GA tickets for games at the MCG & Etihad (not Geevegas). The season just gone saw Freo play in Melbourne 5 times, so from a financial justification viewpoint that's $5 extra per game for the club which I'm OK with. If that goes down to 4 games then my ability to justify the membership reaches a tipping point. That then becomes an extra 50% on top of the GA entry for some trinkets, goodwill & a slightly better chance at obtaining GF tickets.

I'm not against us playing in Darwin as such. However I am against the fact that the majority of games sold by Melbourne clubs to other states involve interstate teams. I also think that if the club is selling a membership option specific to Victoria then there should be a substantial push for there to be between 5-6 games per H&A season in Melbourne.

100% agree. Then I'm also a cheersquad member which at the moment is looking like an extra $10 per game. And lets not forget us Melbourne folks make all of Freo's interstate banners. So putting in hours of effort every fortnight-ish that if I want to see actually used is going to put me more out of pocket with flights/fuel/accommodation/time off work.
