Like most players in the league, if they have a strength, we should exploit that to our advantage. But at what cost? No point playing any player out of position.

If we could trade him for our 2nd (which we don't have), you'd do it any day of the week (with some cap help, of course). But Port won't take that. So the cost is too prohibitive.

I'd love a Corvette...

2016 Hamish is no better than Atkins, Seedsman or even Riley Knight

Unless you are interested in a fringe player as well, possibly just the 29. I doubt we'll use our first on him, as much as I like him. 29 doesn't seem equitable though, a low to mid 20s would be a bit more fair. This makes it more likely he will not come to north.

If he picks you guys, then we'll be thrilled with 29.

I'm not even remotely interested in Hartlett.

IMHO Hartlett=Mackay

Do we really want another Mackay on big $$$ on a long term contract?

Hartlett is better than Mackay, but that's not saying much either.

HH doesn't get rag dolled like Mackay often does or like he will likely this weekend.

NOTE - HH was BOG for the Power in their away final to Freo, no way ever will Mackay be BOG, let alone a final.

Grigg to Carlton as a delisted free agent

If CEY and Lyons ask for a trade, I wouldn't be surprised if we get a pick upgrade for Grigg as our preference might be to wait to see what goes down. Upgrading our 4th rounder might extract him from us quicker allowing the acquiring club to move on quickly.

Did you miss that Mackay has just put in his best ever performance that was either BOG or at least top 3 in a final?

IIRC Henderson is a restricted Free Agent .....meaning he's not in the top 10 paid players at the Crows .....would think Mackay is in a similar $$$ bracket and maybe lower, given there's normally a trade-off of $$$$ in favor of contract length

Find it very hard to accept your price bracket for Mackay, based on above .......maybe $300K to $350K

Hendo is unrestricted. Mackay was restricted when last out of contract. Not similar at all

Mackay wasn't BOG on Saturday.

Wasn't even in top 3.

Received a 6/10 by most media outlets. That wasn't his best game either, it's just that he has been so bad that that an above average game by him looks better than what it is. If anything, this would be the best time to trade him when his currency is the highest it ever will be.

Did you watch the game?

I suppose Port supporters are floating a Brodie Smith for Hamish Hartlett swap by now over on their board.

Tell 'em they're dreaming if so.

So you're just making a guess at what they are saying? Or have they actually said it?

Because if it's the former your post is just completely useless.

Always asking the hard questions, you're like a mini Bert Newton.

If the contract was reasonable I might consider a package around our first or a Lyons & a second

I think that would be fair. Plenty on here underating Hartlett who could be a very good player in the right environment. Doubt Power would do that trade with us though.

Im not suggesting we trade for him to stick it up Port. I am saying he will want to which will only benefit the side who picks him up.

As I have said, Port will get a first rounder for him.

Well there are dumb teams out there, but we aren't one of them
