I count 28 under contract, plus we've got three Cat B slots that can be used on NSW talent.

I wouldn't object to keeping Downie on the senior list and rookie Barrett and Mohr, but they might get better offers as DFAs.

I think it may be 29 but as I have said math is not my best subject :D

Oops, 29 is right. Missed Corr in my counting. So we've got the same number of point-worthy picks as list spots. No re-signings forthcoming.

This is from memory but Does that take into account the future picks from last years trade period that were exempt from the change in the rules regarding list spots and draft picks for this year?
Any volunteers to google for the article about this? I am sure it was from Emma Quayle

It'd take them from the bottom first, and 55, 57, 59 and 60 weren't traded last year so would probably disappear. 58 might come back.

So based on the current list of 33/3 it is possible to draft 5-7 in the national draft and 1-3 in the rookie or that figure could change if any of the OOC are delisted and importantly if any are interested in moving to another club that would be interested in trialling them for some of the preseason?
Do this that watched some of the NEAFL this year think that Downie could be an AFL level ruckman because i see one of Simpson or Downie on the list going forward with Flynn still developing
I could see Simpson attracting interest as he had a relatively injury free year 19 NEAFL games.
Always been talk of Barrett moving for opportunity but if anyone was interested we could have traded for a pick in the 100's.
Mohr seems likely to be loyal after the club has helped him through his injury rehab.
Key dates
The NAB AFL Draft heads to Sydney in 2016. The draft will be held on Friday, November 25.
The NAB AFL Pre-season and Rookie Drafts will be held from 4pm on Monday, November 28.
And 3 periods for delisted free agents which are throughout November and conclude 27 November with final list lodgements on the 30

Pardon the intrusion, I heard we were in to Barrett and as a supporter I really hope the reason we didn't trade for him was that the JOM deal took all our available resources at the death.

My question is what do you expect to happen with him?

If delisted I'd love us to swoop as he seems a very capable footballer albeit far down the GWS pecking order.

My feeling is that he will be kept on the list with so many midfielders leaving he will likely play a senior role in the NEAFL along with Reid for all the draftees and top ups playing.
Also if the club or player was interested in a move a pick over 100 would have worked

We can rest easy now everybody. The inevitable "mass exodus" has come and gone. It's been reported by the Herald Sun already.

GREATER Western Sydney has farewelled nine players in the AFL Trade Period.

The Giants oversaw a mass exodus as they look to bring their player list and salary cap down to meet AFL requirements.

That's it, they are gone. Now we can be a normal club like the others. We've paid the dues that people were calling for years for. Our mass exodus has arrived and I'm sure we are all shattered by this but we will move forward and survive.

Personally think he will be delisted.Apparently a good kid but having watched a fair bit of NEAFl he doesn't really hurt the opposition with his disposals.Gets the pill but would be really surprised if the Hawks picked him up

They sure are but don't be surprised if they bid on Setterfield from inside us (the club) we are expecting it and won't match. Also speculation that mcluggage is not keen on interstate.

They won't do it on Pick 1 as they like him but the two Macs are the stand outs.

Ive heard the rumours on Twitter that McClug doesnt want to go interstate and Ainsworth is a flight risk but a lot of that is unfounded.

McCluggage is a Ballarat boy but everything I've seen of him suggests he is really polished snd mature. Don't be surprised if other clubs are stirring rumours!!

He is a special talent, would be rapped if we got either!!

Haven't heard that about Mcluggage but definitely have heard McGrath not keen to leave Melbourne. Probably just a lot of hearsay at the moment
