Oh yeah, ive got that but how do you get live VFL stats?
Select the 'match day' tab at the bottom and then press 'AFL 2016' at the top. A drop down box should show you the state leagues. Select the one you want and choose a game to see the match statistics. Go to the 'players' tab and select on a player to see their game stats. :thumbsu:

Realistically, how many players can we cut at the end of the year? Ideally we'd cut another 10 or so, but given our expected list management policies at the end of the year, can we actually cut as many as we'd like?

Personally... I think 10 is too many.

7-8 max

Tomlinson's 2014 season was excellent for a 20yo. A few reasons why he struggled last season and now can't get in the team. Personally, I think GWS are now in a position where they are happy to get him off their payroll to free up cap space. We should be able to get him cheap and I hope we do.

Even if you were to half his stats due to playing in a weak league, it would still be a great output from a player that size

Not enough tackle pressure. Pre-sakc.

How was he supposed to tackle the ball carrier?

For most of the match, he WAS the ball carrier, ffs!

:p

But he's pretty much playing in a wheelchair league from the sounds?
Yeah NEAFL is weak. But it shows a strong work ethic and desire to play in the big league to rack up those kind of numbers. If you compare his 2014 AFL season numbers with that of say Gunston when he was the same age, Tomlinson was streaks ahead. Obviously, Gunston has kicked on big time, whereas Tomlinson has had some injuries and hasn't. I think he is worth a punt, especially at a low pick at the trade table.

There will be more off our list than that as we may have a retiree or two also.
That the number I thought early on but that view has changed. 10-12, I'd say.

On another matter: Tomlinson was apparently BOG again yesterday in the NEAFL.
The GWS board has a thread dedicated to opposition supporters asking questions about the trade value of surplus Giants and tomlinsons name comes up a lot...yep, we aren't the only club aware of the two dollar trade shop that draft concessions and academy points have created In the basement at spotless stadium.

Anyway, a fair few of the Giants posters are happy enough to see him traded out and some none to flattering about his ability..."super athletic spud" was one assessment, "looks like Tarzan, plays like jane" another.

Bottom line is he will be in some demand if he goes on the trade table and given he is contracted it may well be to the highest bidder. If he names us we should get the deal done but it won't be for a packet of chips I would think.

The "looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane" poster posted that on our board too, they know he is going. If you read any of the posts on their board during 2015 about possible trading of Tomlinson, they weren't bagging him then.

Of course other teams are going to have a good long hard look at that list, I still think he is obtainable with a lowish pick. If he nominated us then we should be able to get it done quite easily without giving much away (he was keen to come to us before and you would think we would be a desired destination for him as he knows he will get plenty of opportunity in our forward line).

Marchbank, on the other hand will be quite expensive I would think in a trade. Not sure he is what we really need but apparently we are after him.

Watched Kerin Collins play today. Absolutely massive kid. Looks pretty slow tho.
Kicking wasn't great either, had a tough gig too playing on Cameron in his first ever AFL game.
Cameron kicked 5 and Collins had 4 possessions.
Being that slow and only 193cm I can see why SOS went a different way.

Manchild all the kids and i think Wieters made him look a lot better than he really was, was always going to be found out a little in afl, having said that 1st game up against the inform CHF of the comp atm its always going to be a big ask. JGM every day of the week for me.
