and GC who need points for academy players.

GC don't need points for academy players as they only have 1 first round draft prospect in Jack Bowes, the Suns have 2 X first round picks and 4 X second round picks. This is before you factor in any draft picks for the potential trades of players like Prestia or Omera. Agree with most of which you say but don't think trading Boek is the right way to go as he is an up and coming talented player. I would rather trade players who are past it for third rounders to package together with our other picks to get another first round pick. It will be interesting to see the price for Prestia if we can get another first round pick it would be great to get him and still have our first pick 5-10 to draft the best available.

I know I'm not asking for much but in the next draft just get us more gun KPF, KDF, & Mid and I reckon we are on our way.
If we could get a settled back 6, things can start happening for us pretty quickly. I know Bolts is already trying to do this just needs 1 or 2 more pieces to help out Weitering, Plowman, Docherty, Bryne, Tuohy, (Jamo & Rowe probably ain't gonna get to our next final series) And also on my wishlist, I'd love us to be able find another Duigan type from SA / WA comp just like the Doggies have done this year with Adams (ready to go body for AFL)

What the dogs got with Adams at pick 35 or something like that was a stroke of Genius.

All credit to Bolton for the job he's done thus far. We've been playing far better football than I expected to to. Playing much more as a team and defending as a team. All good things.

Still feel like the rebuild, in terms of ins and outs, could take a while. We've got about 5 players that at some point in the next couple of years will retire. Ive got no idea how the club will handle it, but we'll need players fwd, back and in the middle.

As a club we're not going to be able to do it all in this years draft.

Out of interest who do people think will go at the end of the year?

Tutt, Dick, Wood, Gowers (Delisted), Jamison, Walker (retire)

Realistically, how many players can we cut at the end of the year? Ideally we'd cut another 10 or so, but given our expected list management policies at the end of the year, can we actually cut as many as we'd like?

6-8 realistically, depending on the draft strategy, especially if SOS wants to package picks to get another in the first round. There is no point cutting 10 players and replacing them with more list cloggers.

If Jack Trengrove does not cement a spot at the Dees by seasons end is he worth looking at? He nearly left at the end of last season to the Tigers before failing a medical. He is 24 this season so still fits an age profile that is good for us. What would he cost?

Prior to this weekend he was averaging about 27 disposals per game in the full VFL matches he played this year. Handballs more than he kicks and as his kicking is around 50% efficiency you can see why. Handballs are 80% efficiency. Averaging a goal a game and 9 tackles. Solid VFL form but not spectacular.

3rd rounder if we even want him. Such a shame going from captaincy to this. Would love him to turn it around.

He had another good game in the VFL this round didn't he? He is out of contract. I don't want anyone to think i am interested in paying much for him. I am looking at options for our third rounder or next years third rounder.

Byrne guaranteed to be promoted, Wood & Gowers are Rookies so will need to cut more and I would also think Jones & Arnfield would probably be on the chopping table, especially if we get some draft picks or do a 2 for 1 type trade again. Clem Smith would also want to show a bit more if he is to avoid the chop.

Jones is doing enough right now to justify being around at least one more year on the list ...

Dylan Buckley is the interesting one, out of contract at the end of the season, he might be in a bit of strife, tbh ...

You could be right with Buckley, another club might see enough in him to offer up a 3rd round pick which would be worth us looking at.

Interesting stat this one, good on Cripps! http://www.carltonfc.com.au/news/2016-05-23/cripps-breaks-clearances-record

Further on Cripps, did anyone see him on Gameday over the weekend? An interesting comment by Boomer Harvey caught my attention. He reckons that in a few years when Cripps fills out and bulks up more he will move out of the midfield and become one of the all time great Centre Half-Forwards.

He definitely has the size for the position, but I don't know if he has the forward-line nouse for it? Also, I don't know if I want to take him out of the midfield as he is so dominant there haha. What do you all think?

Needs to improve his kicking for goal if he is to become a fwd line weapon.

He's too good at getting it to be waiting around for it.

Irrc, curnow has previously shown good ability on clearances/contested ball - what are people's thoughts on swapping his and kerridges roles in the team?

Might give kerridges more time to pick up the pace of the game to minimise fumbles?

Ok, well someone has to bring this up.

The inevitable Travis Cloke question. For a very low cost, would anyone entertain the idea of having this guy straighten us up for a couple years until our young talls come along?

I would probably say no, but there is certainly benefit to having some senior talls around the place. The pros would be allowing 3rd tall types like SOSOS and arguably C Curnow come on with a big forward taking the number one defender. I also think Levi plays his best footy at CHF/2nd Ruck, so I doubt they would clash in terms of play style.

I also dont think he would cause us to shoot up the ladder prematurely either.

No.

Tomlinson far too good for 2's football. Think he's more suited to playing midfield than up forward. Really hope we get him for cheap.

2 NEAFL Dominant performance with 35 touches, 18 marks and three goals. Superb. -
3 NEAFL Big engine getting up and down the ground again. 31 touches, 15 marks, but goalless. -
4 Port Tried hard up forward, but couldn’t impact the scoreboard. 3
5 NEAFL Worked tirelessly up and down the ground but didn’t have a lot of support. -
6 NEAFL Huge numbers again and a big presence. 28 touches, two goals, nine inside 50s. -
7 NEAFL Bye. -
8 NEAFL Had a picnic with 44 possessions, 13 marks and 11 inside 50s. -
9 NEAFL Continued stunning form in midfield with 52 touches, 11 inside-50s and a goal.

Add Whiley, Clem is young and was a great junior, i hope he is given a little more time. I guess it will all depend on our draft strategy, SOS likes high draft picks so may package a few picks together to get another pick in the first round and i expect a few more multiplayer deals to happen. Agree on Jones but he is contracted for next season unfortunately so might stay. I would be very surprised if one or more players weren't traded as well.
