Kane defends all the big name players and states that they should stay while in the same breath states that big names need to drop. How gutless is he. Two weeks Hartlett has been back yet according to kane 'it takes time to build up confidence'. What a dousche. Aren't the expectations at AFL level to be fit and ready to perform. Otherwise SANFL is for you. Gold Tickets at Alberton. haha.

This is the problem with small town media.

Bag the club or players and you get freezed out and get nothing to promote your sports shows. Go all sycophant and your show loses any credablity when they under perform.

I'm sorry if this is old news but did they sign some Chinese dude?

And then he did his knee in his first training session?

And they have they audacity to say we are a manufactured franchises.

FFS, they sign a B grade country footballer last year as a publicity stand and now a Chinese guy with the plan to play him?

**** me, and they want us to seriously believe they are a club who plan to "win premierships" (or whereever BS they sprout about that creed crap)

They have zero integrity and zero self respect. When they lose to Richmond this week, they will get less them 30,000 to the Lions game and them **** knuckle Rucci will say, they "supporters are sending a message"

Get stuffed Rucci you twat burger.

And the only two other clubs interested in Wagner was GWS and Gold Coast (and they were probably forced into showing interest by the AFL).

I'll digress from the discussion about how much of a disaster season 2 of The Recruit will be.

We all know where that player will end yup now.

Port power are shit. Need a hit of methadone promotion and walla, they recuit the new player.

I had exactly the same question.
I haven't wanted to bring this up before, but I have it on pretty good authority that monfries was on the plane with the power boys during one of their preseason interstate trips. Wearing a power T-shirts. Post CAS ruling. Now, technically I suppose he can travel and wear whatever he likes. But jeez, if Trigg and co had done that during their time off, the media would have gone nuts, with Rucci holding the torch. With Monfries, not a whisper.

Port going through all the stages of a club in internal turmoil heading towards sacking a coach eventually but letting it linger. Our club has been through it, as have many others.

Stage 1: Our coach is a gun, players love him, will rise again.
Stage 2: Just injuries and instability. Will be fine.
Stage 3: It's the new game plan. Struggling a bit but we'll be fine.
Stage 4: It's the assistants and fitness department!
Stage 5: <insert external factor here eg. rumour, administration discontent>
Stage 6: Maybe it is the coach...? It'll be fine. Surely.
Stage 7: OK so it's probably the coach but we can't sack him because there's no one else.
Stage 8: OK so it's definitely the coach but we can't sack him because we can't pay out his contract.
Stage 9: Admin don't sack him because then their heads are on the chopping block too.
Stage 10: Ahhhh f*ck. Let's sack him.

Jesus Kane is a knob

That bloke who rang up saying Ken isn't far off being sacked

Now you can disagree with that if you want but Kane just says "Who else would you get?"

What, the league is entirely out of possible coaches Kane you moron??

And then he does his best Graham impersonation and talks over the listener to say "Answer my question right now! Who would you replace him with?" and because the poor bugger doesn't have the exact name then the whole idea is supposedly wrong
Did they have a new coach sorted when they sacked Primus?

Reading the Richmond board last night that all sounds very familiar:)

I don't think I've ever heard of a banned player being able to work in the media or around a sport before once they have been banned. It might have happened, but I'm pretty sure it never had prior to this one.
Not only that, but I haven't heard of any other sport wanting a banned player to remain involved. Lance Armstrong commentating le Tour? Would never happen.

The amount of deluded sympathy for those players by the AFL and media is staggering. Over compensation in my opinion, which usually occurs when someone has something to hide. Can't wait for "Underbelly - Bombers 34".

Rucci has bought the spin of the new meaning of "we never give up"

This cannot last if Hinkley can't turn the season around. They really need to say," To never give up we need to build for the future, we will be rotating young players through several at a time for a few games each to give them AFL football experience."

This will keep the wolves at bay because they are managing expectations with reagards to wins, and they can keep list cloggers out of the AFL side.

To think they're probably the only ones pointing out problems.

I still can't believe they ever hired Bassett. Not because isn't good - I reckon he is. But he was never going to toe the company line. And the company line is all Port have at the moment.

And that is all spin, smoke , mirrors and media garbage. But I'm happy for them to stay deludedly unreal.

I've got nothing but respect for you using "twat burger" in a post. And about 100 inappropriate comments about the term, which I won't list. Thank you, "twat burger" has now entered my vernacular :D
